With the new movie out in a month and a half I think it's time to go back and watch the first two movies. The other two movies I don't know about especially ASM 2 man did that movie suck.
I can bring up a lot of points but we all know besides that great song what every one remembers about this movie just how great Dafoe is
Only good scene I can find on YT
He had the craziness down.
Some many great quotes
Just my luck

I actually find this to be the best Spider-man movie thus far

Love that movie, so much fun and it really hit the ground running for the Spider Man film series. The sequel was fantastic, unfortunately everything went to crap afterwards.

I Think many forget just how big of a deal this was back in the day. It's not like we got a comic book movie every year. Blade and X-men deserve all the credit in the world for bringing new life into the medium

I like Spider-Man 2 a little bit better, but Spider-Man is still an awesome superhero movie. Great cast, fun action bits, and a good plot. Whoever cast Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin and J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson is a genius.
Also, I've always liked the video game adaptation, too.

It was becoming the Duke Nukem Forever/Chinese Democracy of film. The fact that it was even made was amazing itself.

To be honest I think 1 and 3 are at about the same level of quality. I don't hate 3 as much as a lot of people, but that's still more an indictment of 1 than it is praise for 3. It sort of eats at me how the Green Goblin is a complete joke and the movie is more a series of barely connected run-ins with him than an actual narrative.
I know the exact same criticism could be leveled at the Burton Batman movie and I love that movie, but I dunno, it works for me in that one but not in this one.

Think what helps the first movie is no one ever expected a SM movie to get made. To see SM swinging on the screen brought the little kid out in people

I saw 3 and Amazing 1 (which is my personal pick for best Spider-Man, even with issues like the most, "I know I'm about to get murdered," phonecall ever, the obviousness of the doomsday machine, the crane operator scene, and the pointless evil Indian guy) before I saw 1 and 2.

Also was the first DVD I ever brought

For ASM 2 The Stuff not helping Harry doesn't help either

For ASM 2 The Stuff not helping Harry doesn't help either Oh, man, ASM2 is probably my pick for the worst one of these. At least 3's shorter, doesn't pointlessly kill off the love interest and then immediately waive it off, doesn't have its final boss look like he's just done a bunch of meth, and doesn't have a part where they stop the movie dead to make you wonder, "How the hell did he get that good an Internet connection in the mid-90s? And has that computer been on for the past 20 years? How and why?" while not contributing anything at all to the actual plot in doing it. Plus at least they actually had Venom, even if he was super watered down and could probably be edited out of the movie, instead of killing him off offscreen to set up Carnage.

Still wonder how that Part 4 with the original cast would had turn out?
Also for ASM Parker leaves his name on the camera while out as SM and doesn't catch Uncle Ben's killer

For me, Spidey 1 and 2 are the best comic book movies. The casting was great, the guy who was Jameson... He was born for that role.
