Well currently there are two feds running regular shows, the Israeli Wrestling League and the All Wrestling Organization. The IWL is the youngest and has a more talented roster, while the AWO used to be a leading promotion some years ago, drew decent crowds (250-150 is considered decent here) and brought in guys like Joe E Legend, Carlito and Chris Masters, but currently is not in a very good shape. In addition to that, this summer there will be sort of a super-show with the likes of Kevin Von Erich, Tatanka, Marty Jannetty and Matt Sydal and other talent from abroad as well as a couple of local guys. The Von Erichs are extremely popular here and the show's getting a lot of hype in the media already. Sorry for going off-topic. If Gery Roif involved with either of these? I remember him trying to get wrestling going in Israel some 10-15 years ago, but we haven't talked in a very long time now. I recall one of his workers doing a Soviet gimmick used to post on here in the early days. He's basically retired, only comes out to wrestle maybe once or twice a year. Will be at that summer show. And that worker would be me, I guess.

I feel bad for you guys. The indys in my area including the one I train at and work for put on stellar shows. Pennsylvania has always had good wrestling though. Amen. Im South Eastern PA and whether its Philly, Allentown, or Lancaster the shows are decent. Ive never had a horrible indie experience like the ones posted here, although they do make me laugh.

The guy with the belt, which is the Last Rites Extreme title,is Max Maverick. He was married at the time to the lady doing video work for Last Rites. But sadly after Last Rites folded she deleted all the footage. But as yall can see the belt is just a weight lifting belt with a bunch of auto decals on it. If all goes right in July a group of about 10 of us are going down to Kiln Mississippi to see what has been called "The worst indy fed in the deep south" Southern Championship Wrestling. Run by Chris Black and the Faroh of Phunk. They are running weekly in Kiln and drawing 100 to 150 people each week. Most of the roster is rookies that Faroh and Chris train for 3 weeks then put on the shows. They were at one time running all over the MS gulf coast but have been banned from pretty much every venue in that area. Our plan is to all show up in wrestling masks, sit front row and just heckle the hell out of all the heels. Last year SCW had a big 3 shows in 3 days event. With the final show being headlined by a barbed wire Hell in the Cell match. The cell was made out of 2x4s. Had no ceiling and only had 3 sides. What sucks is no one is recording the SCW shows so unless you hit one of their shows you can't see how horrible it is. Holy shit. An Indy show in Kiln. This I've gotta see. I'm out in Slidell, LA so it's not even that far of a drive.

But do you know about Elev8 Pro,they run right outside NOLA. Both are damn good indie feds. I prefer Elev8 Pro more. But that is more cause I had friends that got screwed over by Wildkat.

Though that might be the promotion that ran a show here in Slidell a few months back. Only Indy show I've been to around here was a few years back at the Slidell Auditorium. Duggan was there in the main event and signing autographs. Rod Price was on the card as was Kevin god damn Northcutt. That dude is pretty infamous in my circle but mostly for out of the ring stuff. There was also a guy, who I think may have been the promoter, called Marty Graw which I found to be pandering as shit but hey, whatcha gonna do?

I went to one of those shows as a kid in England where it's full of terrible impersonators. It was years ago so I can't remember too much. What I do remember is...
The Rock impersonator was a short, flabby white guy in a 2 pound shirt from Primark. He had a vague facial and hair resemblance to Rock, like if Rock stepped in front of one of those funhouse mirrors that make you look fat.
Kane was about 6 foot tall and barely strong enough to lift his opponent for the chokeslam. His wig fell off during the match.
Mankind actually did look ok.
Undertaker was played by the same guy as Kane. He had drew on tattoos which started to run because of his sweat.
There was a Headbanger impersonator who I can't remember much about since The Headbangers were before my time so I had little interest.
The ring announcer had the role of starting cheers so throughout the match he'd be chanting things like "Un-Da-Take-her, un-da-take-her" and "chokeslam".
They sold knockoff tee shirts. I got an X PAC shirt.

to be honest, I've probably worked the worst local indie show ever somewhere down the line. If you live in North England and a few years ago you saw a ripoff indie with a Russian 90 pound teenager playing "Miss April Lee", then I apologize.
In my defense, I think until Rev Pro and PROGRESS started, EVERY wrestling show in the UK was the worst indie show ever.

I know Marty Graw runs it. But yeah heard some horror stories about Northcutt. Lots of them from his old tag team partner John Saxon. Rod Price is a good dude. Elev8 Pro was started by a guy that got screwed over by Wildkat. And they mostly run Chalmette. But had their first show in Mississippi last month.

I don't think I've ever attended anything close to the worst wrestling show ever but I have been to hundreds of independent shows and some have definitely had their moments. There were a few shows where the promoter stiffed the guys and didn't pay them. The wrestlers announced this to the fans but they didn't ask for a collection and they didn't even have merch to sell so everyone just leaves feeling bad. Those sucked.
There was another show that was very good but the bathroom had all its wooden stall doors broken off and they were just laying on the floor in there. You had to walk on them to get around. The entire floor as well as those doors were saturated in urine. It was also a unisex bathroom so I felt bad for any female fans in attendance. I never went back there again. The worst thing I ever saw in a bathroom at a show was a completely overflowing toilet with a full roll of toilet paper sitting in the center with the biggest crap I've ever seen piled on and around it. Thank the fine fans at the ECW arena for that one.
I've been to shows that started a hour or two late. There were terrible audio systems where we were never able to make out a single word. I've seen rings where the ropes were unbelievably loose and unsafe. I've seen some wrestlers that treated fans horribly. I was at a show where a wrestler stole the money they were collecting for a charity. I was at a show where one of the fans helping collect money for a charity stole the money from that charity.
There's been a lot of bad stuff that happens at independent wrestling shows. When you go to enough of them you realize you're taking your chances with the really small time ones. I honestly couldn't narrow it down to one worst show in my experiences. I will say that Extreme Reunion in 2012 as a whole show has to be up there. That was bad for so many reasons. Just google it if you're not familiar with it. Make sure you have some time to do some reading if you do. That's how much there was to complain about. I couldn't believe the turnout for that show. They screwed thousands of fans that night. It was such a wasted opportunity.

My brief foray into the business was with them as ring crew among other things and although as far as I can't remember there weren't any direct rip off gimmicks they were only a step above that. EAW stands for Extreme American Wrestling which probably tells you all you need to know as they were about as far removed from America as you could possibly get.

It was called Real American Wrestling, mostly so their posters could be like: tribute to WWE RAWReal American WrestlingWhich is like the fine line between genius and scummy. As for how ripoff indy they were, my boyfriend at the time was a bleach blonde guy who wrestled as "Dirk Diggler". Most of our work was the same set of 2 singles matches and a Mixed tag against "Sex-Pac and Aysia" or an uninventive team who just called themselves "Edge and Lita"

Not the worst indy show I have been to,but going in I thought it would be.
Powerslam Productions McComb Mississippi winter 2015
Going into the show I knew that none of the Wildkat Sports guys would be on the show. They made up half the roster of Powerslam and there was a falling out between the owners of both feds.
When they had shows in McComb,Powerslam would use a local little theater.Which is good and bad. The good is that cause the place is so small it gives each show a very intimate feel. The bad is the place can hold 100 tops.
I get their early. Once we are let in we find out that the theater owners had shown up 3 days before the show and cut the heat on. And since the thermostat was in a locked see thru case there was no way to turn it off. So while it was about 50 outside inside the theater it was closer to 100.
Grabbed my front row reserved seat and was talking to a few friends when we hear this loud squeal. Then a pop. They had just turned on the PA system and 3 of the 4 speakers had blown. Then turns out they couldn't get a experienced ring announcer so they used the owner's best friend. And they had forgotten to pack the mic.So the ring announcer had to yell to be heard.
To fill out the roster the owners had called in some favors. So instead of Luke Hawx and Bu Ku Dao we got Blade Beaudreaux and The Punisher. The Punisher is an old vet,who wears all black and a cheap mask. Blade was good 20 years ago. But now is not good at all.
The only thing that saved the show was the surprise return of The Prince of Pain Joe Kane.He hadn't been on a Powerslam show in 2 years. So when he crawled out from under the ring, with a cheap Halloween mask taped to his head, and attacked the lead heel the crowd popped.
