Could be a lot of fun. Reminds me of when they had Kevin Federline. Lavar is a good heel promo

Instead of just adding nothing with a vague shrug of non-understanding, I'll bite; who is this guy and why is he big? I am deeply curious, especially with the posts about him being a good fit for this. I'm hype, tbh. I hope they let him cut a promo too. He's a more interesting personality than virtually anybody on Raw atm. He rode his son's coattails to become a big star. We haven't had that type of parent on WWE since Al Wilson so this segment can only end in greatness. You're forgetting the wrestling industry's star parent:

I'm sitting here laughing at the people that don't watch sports trying their absolute best to make the most smarmy, condescending comments... we get it. You don't watch sports. "LOL WWE & VINCE IS SO OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE MAINSTREAM AND WAY FAR BEHIND THE MAINSTREAM" *current popular figure in pop culture enters the WWE Landscape*"WHO?!" "WHO?!!?" "WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO?!!!11?" <at least 20 more replies of people saying who>Every single time! Sometimes we get the usual multiple replies of "I'm not American so I don't know who this person is" repeated in Ad nauseam.

Hopefully if he does show up, he gets booed out of the building That's the goal though, isn't it? "Hopefully" is what Vince McMahon is thinking as well. More eyes will be on RAW on recap shows and networks like ESPN who are more reality tv these days than actual sports. ESPN and the like are to sports what YouTube comments are to news. And they'll there with bells on.

He should offer to represent "free agent" John Cena during his contract negotiations.

But let's not ignore the fact that often when WWE chases what's current in terms of celebrity culture, a lot of those things are fads according to how mainstream media directs attention and determines what is popular. Where's the Beef lady, 90s Chuck Norris, Jonathan Taylor-Thomas, Gennifer Flowers, the Miller Cat Fight women, Rosie vs. Trump, and so on. Whomever LaVar Ball is, as I have no clue, since I'm Canadian and I don't follow sports, to me sounds like the 2017 equivalent of this.

He's a loud mouth who talks a mean game yet can't back it up. His sons sick of his shit too. He's the inspiration for the Titus Brand

Whenever I've seen people post "who?" in this thread I think they're wearing a monocle while holding a wine glass. Like, wrestling fans of all people are acting like they're above knowing who someone is especially when it's someone related to a sport/s which not only goes above wrestling in popularity but someone who's known for more than gimmick. Shit's lame to me and I lost respect for people when they do that.

Like there are times when it's appropriate like the little girl who sang some song on YouTube and appeared in SDL in like a 30 second segment. But the outrage she was going to be SDL was hilarious especially on the press coverage was she was just going to promote some chairty with Nikki Bella and how quickly forgotten it was after. And there are acts or names I've been really late to the party before. But I know how to highlight a name and right click to search Google as well. And I don't want post "WHO" like it's some kind of badge of honor not to know something.

Have any of the people typing "who" ever heard of google? Like seriously, it would take you probably no more than 3 seconds to google "LaVar Ball".

Good for his son. His dad makes overpriced shoes and is an obnoxious asshole. My question hasn't been answered.

My question hasn't been answered. He's relevant because he's a personality on television and news. He's often the centerpiece of sports coverage. He's more relevant right now than literally every single person on Raw.

If a player's obnoxious, shoe-peddling dad is the centerpiece of sports coverage, as opposed to the player, that says WAY more about sports media than my standards of relevance.

Extremely casual follower of The NBA but it's impressive he the dad is more talked about than his son being the #2 overall draft pick playing for one of the biggest if not biggest NBA franchise who are desperately seeking the heir to Kobe Bryants throne.

But just because YOU don't deem him relevant doesn't make it the case. Dude has made a name for himself and his kids by being obnoxious and hilarious. Good or bad, he's a current name in pop culture and would be a decent headline grabber celeb to rope onto the show for a guest spot.
