2018 is the start of TNAGFW 5 year plan? So basically nothing happening this year means shit the grand scheme of things? Double J is successfully hustling Anthem, their fanbase, and the wrestlers with the revival of the dangling carrots the company needs to get to the next level. You got television already. Granted it ain't Spike or even Destination America, Pop is better than nothing. Maybe if the company didn't salt the earth for other wrestling promotions, TNA would be able to pick a better tv partner. The roster change line is just him reasoning filling the company with his loyalists by claiming acts were getting stale. Like Reno Scum is fresh. And for them fighting for the rights for the Broken Universe. If you somehow miraculously won the case, how the f*** will you be able to use it for financial gain? The brainchild behind it is in WWE now. Putting new people into the role is like when tv executives thought they could replace Bo and Luke Duke with their scab cousins, Coy and Vance. No one bought it and hated it. Knowing TNA, they use gross incompetence and illegal tactics to justify their ownership of the IP.

All the people that claim that they own Matt's gimmick and work weren't even there when he did it.
And who wants to see guys like Reno Scum, Konnan attempting to act like what your Uncle thinks is cool while continuing to bitch about how it's everyone's fault he didn't become a success and Scott Steiner? Manabu Nakanishi is more mobile than him and far more entertaining

So if Anthem do indeed own the gimmick, and contractually they do, why in the name of everything did they take so long in putting that in paper and getting it trademarked?
People are forgetting, THAT'S the issue here and not who owns it. They can say they own it but they have none of the official paperwork, hence why they put in their trademark request THE DAY AFTER THE HARDYS LEFT THE COMPANY!

I love the "We want to be on television in 2018" line because it implies their current TV partner is a total non-entity. I hope a Pop exec sees that, TNA hasn't had a good "we f***ed ourselves right off of the network" scandal in a few years.

That... That is not true at all. It depends on the terms of the agreement.
Like, right off the top of my head, Konami was the initial publisher for Skullgirls, but they don't own it and never owned it.

Double J been kissing up to Spike executives for a while including hanging out with them at the recent Bellator ppv. What he is looking for is a sucker to pay them like Spike used to do. Good luck on that.

Good luck on that. And just like Dixie he's so myopic in it that he just dropped a "Nah f*** our current station" comment into an interview. Way to really show that new ownership is better there, Jeff. Nobody's going to pay what Spike was paying for less than a quarter of the audience.

Double J is a hell of a con/salesman.
I think people need to remember that applying for a trademark first does not mean it is granted there and then unconditionally, there is a long road ahead for the Hardys and Anthem and by the time it's done the gimmick will be worthless.

I'm hoping he meant "We want to CONTINUE to be on television in 2018", because their contract with Pop will be up. Because if he didn't...hoo boy, what a thing to say.

I'm pretty sure I've been hearing about TNA's, "Five year plan," for about eight years now.

"It is no secret that the whole industry is moving toward video on demand, but there is nothing like a live experience and feel. Watching wrestling live completely changes the experience, and that is a major reason why we are going back on the road for live shows in August."
The hell is he talking about here? You have to have live shows to have video on demand.

Anytime I hear about five year plans, I think of the famous five year plans from 1984, and real life USSR.
