Odds are there's gonna be lots and lots of power struggle and invasion angles, 'cause that's the only thing they try to do. This is always a good reminder about all the invading factions over the years and how none really worked in a positive way.

That... That is not true at all. It depends on the terms of the agreement. Like, right off the top of my head, Konami was the initial publisher for Skullgirls, but they don't own it and never owned it. Exactly. There's three trillion creator-owned comics that are wholly-controlled by the writers and artists, not the publisher that issued them. KISS owns their songs, not the record company. I will be the first to admit that I am no legal expert, and all I know about this situation is what I have read on this forum. I just hope this doesn't become a John Fogerty/CCR situation. I heard that the Hardy clan were the first to trademark the "Broken" act, but I don't know all the details of the Hardys/TNA deal.

Err........ new talent like Scott Steiner, Low Ki, ODB, Sonjay Dutt and Matt Morgan? What? Big Poppa Pump is back? That could actually make me check out TNA/Impact/GFW again.

Broken Hardy's UpdateWasn't sure where to put this, but here seems as good a place as any. So apparently both the Hardy's and Anthem had worked out a deal so that Matt and Jeff would own the Broken IP, but Nordholm/JJ/whoever decided to try to stall this thing out hoping that the Hardy's eventually lose interest/don't feel like paying the court costs. Goddamn TNA is dumb.

Can you imagine a company like Disney or Viacom or any mega organisation arranging a deal and then NOT wanting to sign because they hope they lose interest and want to drag things out that long?
The reason most big companies DON'T want stuff to go to court isn't because they can't afford it (because they can) but it's because the press for them will be bad because of course people are going to root for the people with less money over them.
Like...people ALREADY don't take your side on this, Anthem. Sign the deal, get this whole thing out of your hair and move on to rebuilding the brand. Even if you aren't that interested in doing that much, it's better to have it done and dusted so everyone can move on instead of dragging it out and making you look bad.

You know I was thinking about it... and is GFW the first invading faction that actually won? I mean long term... they won.

To play devil's advocate for Global/TNA, they must know their image in the eye of most wrestling fans is already horrible. They might even be self-aware enough to realize whatever goodwill they get out of giving the Hardys the Broken gimmick will be immediately undone by whatever blunder they commit two days later. If that's the case, why not try for another shitty cashgrab?

Like....I genuinely don't know how to process this level of dumb. "We're getting nothing out of this, but they'd be willing to pay us to use it, and agree not to shit talk us afterwards to boot, cool......wait a minute let's go for half of all their future revenue while we've got them anywhere BUT cornered! That's the ticket!"

If that's the case, why not try for another shitty cashgrab? Why would the Hardy's even consider for a second giving them half of what they get from WWE as well as other money that they're making? This is as stupid and as asinine as the offer Sony gave Marvel regarding Spider Man, and The Hardy's counteroffer is pretty much the same thing Marvel told them.

"The Hardys wouldn't sign a new contract with us that had us take 10% of their outside wrestling earnings. Then they wouldn't give us 10% of their wrestling earnings to get the gimmick back. WHY DON'T WE GO FOR 50% OF EVERYTHING THEY MAKE FOR THE REST OF THEIR f***ING LIVES?"
TNA is so insane, it's unbelievable. They had a settlement that would have ended all of this so quickly, and instead of doing that they decided to just let this play out long-term in court like dumbasses. “GFW has been and always will be open to a licensing agreement for the IP to all parties, which is customary in the music and entertainment business, but revolutionary in the professional wrestling business.” Yeah, because a 50% stake in the rest of someone's f***ing life is customary for entertainment licensing you f***ing ballbags.
I totally buy what Matt and Reby have been saying about having things they can expose. It's the Corgan case all over again; they're going to try and play dickhead hardball and try to demand everything be on their terms whether it's sensible or not, and they're going to end up worse off for it due to the legal costs and the fact that dirty laundry is going to get aired that won't do their company any favours.

I'm at the point where I not only hope that TNA goes out of business, I hope they somehow take Anthem with it. What a bunch of f***ing human garbage.
