Sterling Shepard has been diagnosed with a low-ankle sprain. Well, considering his reaction was one of someone who thought his season was over, I guess Giants fans can breathe a sigh of relief that it was just a low ankle sprain. Still sucks, but it could be way worse.

It's not the same as Tebow because Kaepernick was still putting up good numbers while Tebow was mostly a mediocre-at-best QB who had a good game here and there and also benefited from an extremely good defense that eventually was able to carry Peyton Manning to two Super Bowls, winning one of them where he could barely throw the ball. And unlike Kaep, Tebow continued to get opportunities and just couldn't cut it whether it's being in the Jets clusterf*** or getting cut from preseason rosters. And to this day, I think if Tebow really was the real deal at QB, he'd still be in the NFL instead of the Mets' publicity stunt to distract from their terrible season. Because there are a lot of openly religious dudes in the NFL and there'd be a lot of people out of jobs if the owners were scared of signing anyone being overly religious. Tebow also got opportunities outside of football, not even counting baseball. He got a gig with ABC and ESPN as an analyst and then got brought into the SEC Network. Because if Tebow is anything, he's charismatic and pretty damn good in front of a camera. Somehow I don't see similar offers being given to Kaepernick. Until Kaepernick, I really did believe that the NFL was entirely meritocratic. You could be the scum of the earth but if you had talent, you could land a job. But the thing that keeps you from getting a job, regardless of talent, is apparently being an outspoken black man that says things that makes white people uncomfortable. It's a combination of both what's happening between the lines and outside of the chalk that is preventing Colin Kaepernick from getting a job. You cannot discuss one without the other. If Colin Kaepernick were good enough, people would put up with his vocal (and, given the Miami incident last season, sometimes misguided) stances. But because the league has largely figured out that Kaepernick is a mediocre-at-best run-first gimmick quarterback who needs a very specific style of offense to suit him, he's not worth the off-field headache that will accompany him. If 2013 Kaepernick, fresh off an incredible run through the postseason and a Super Bowl berth, was taking a knee at the National Anthem and praising dictators, then he'd still have a job in the NFL. Someone would say, "Screw all the baggage, he's worth it." But because it's been five years since he broke onto the scene as a sensation, the league has figured him out and he was so bad that he was benched for Blaine f***ing Gabbert, teams are realizing that why should they shine a bright-ass spotlight on a backup quarterback, the person who is supposed to be one of the most anonymous players on the 53-man roster? If a starting quarterback gets hurt in the regular season and a team needs an emergency starter, I could see Kaepernick getting signed. But other than that, I can't envision teams dealing with the attention and, in some instances, headache that will accompany a guy who is holding a clipboard.

Chargers top draft pick Mike Williams is out indefinitely with a back injury and might miss parts of the season while their second round pick Forrest Lamp is out for the season with a torn ACL.

Still don't understand why the Chargers are being jerks and denying Rivers & Gates the opportunity to be at LT's HOF ceremony

At the end of the day if we are being 100% real his current talent level does. It warrant the distractions he would bring. NFL is not shy about giving anyone a job and if you were a headache but your talent couldn't outlive your production(Chad Johnson, Greg Hardy, TO etc...) than you don't end up with another job

Phins starting QB went down in a non contact drill today there goes their season Once again I need to ask, why the f*** did they pay Tannehill so much? Like it's worse than Andy Dalton, they literally paid him money because he was just above the line from being terrible... thats how much good QBs are coveted, and I guess when youre in a division thats suffered through Tom Brady for two decades, I can imagine why.

On the Eagles side, Alshon Jeffery is still sidelined but it seems precautionary at this point. Michael Kyndricks also is out with an injury. I dont know why we didn't just trade that dude.
Meanwhule Jordan Hicks has a broken hand and is practicing full contact drills, I really like that kid, he has a hell of a fight.

Dolphins are "concerned" with the Tannehill injury. With him going down for a non contact injury it def doesn't sound good

The Miami Herald reports Ryan Tannehill (left knee) is dealing with a hyperextension at minimum, and could have PCL damage.
49ers waived WR Bruce Ellington.

But all this "oh lordy, he is being blackballed by the entire league" stuff just annoys me because I could have told you when he was considering opting out this year (as opposed to last year when if he was willing to decrease his salary, he would have been traded to the Broncos easily), that it wasn't a good year in free agency for starting QBs as people were gonna be more wanting of defensive players (primarily in the backfield).
