As awful as Cobra Commander was, That was the least of that movie's issues Everybody knows everybody! The second one was much better. It basically ignored or killed everything terrible about the first one and embraced being a GI Joe movie I liked the second one, It get TONS of flack but at least it felt like I was watching a GI Joe flick. All that was missing was Baroness & Destro done right, Destro was in the film I know (For about 2 seconds) but leaving out Baroness was a mistake IMO

I preferred the helmet, I liked the hood, but one would think the thing would fly off in battle, that was made for lounging.
When the reboot film came out, they changed him drastically and noted that they didn't want people think he was in the klan which was stupid as he looked nothing like that, his hood was blue, and it wasn't his only look.

I never liked the helmet . It made him look like a generic soldier. He could easily blend into his own men. The hood made him look like an authority figure. This.

It would've come out before the one in your post. His face was more visible There was 2 versions of this one - an international version where the face underneath had some features painted (eyebrows & eyes) but the faceplace was less transparent, and then the US version with the face with vague features and more transparent faceplate. But no other red masked CC that I know of. This one came a couple years after the silver armored CC and shortly before the hooded version that was part of Sonic Fighters and Battle Corps.

I like them both but prefer the helmet and mirrored mask. If you were to look him in the face you would see your own face and there is something more creepy about that.

Joe: Resolute when Cobra Commander addressed his army and the army was reflected off his metal mask. Dude looked so damned powerful and menacing and you just can't get that from his cloth mask. BTW, why was that dog so happy?

Original steel mask. The hood like it's for lounging. I would not have signed on to do the movie if I couldn't wear the old look-the producers said some shit like "we didn't want people to think he was in the KKK"

I actually love both, but if I had to take just one, I do prefer the hood. With it, he looks more complete as the "hated foes of freedom" kind of guy. A mash up of Nazis, Soviet KGB guys, and the KKK all in one. Perfect look for a villain fighting "the ultimate American Fighting Force."

Said it before, but I like helmet for combat, hood for diplomatic or ritual stuff. It looks like if he turned too fast, it'd come out of place and blind him.
