What if the IOCC decided to do what they do with the Winter Olympics and have it held every 2 years, as opposed to every 4 years? Would it be just as succesful or be a bad idea all around?

It's hard enough getting a city/county every 4 years to spend billions to try and earn millions... every two years would be catastrophic
So of course they'll try to do it.
I think it would hurt some of the drama. The whole "They only have 1 shot every 4 years" adds a lot to the sports. When somebody's entire life is on the line for that 1 shot at glory, it sells.

Winter Olympics is almost practically useless now without NHL participation. Actually nah Winter Olympic sports are more entertaining to watch

I actually think that the way to go would be to create different Olympics for each season, so we'll have 4 years of different Olympics.
Summer and Winter for outdorr and winter sports, spring for what I like to call "bar sports" (stuff like snooker, billiards, darts, dominoes, poker, air hockey, bowling, etc. Maybe even have a nerd part of it all and allow CCG's in it) and Autumn could have the e-Lympics (remember everyone claimoring for e-sports in the Olympics? There you go)
But actual Summer Olympics every 2 years? NO! It's perfect the way it is: sufficiently fresh so it feels like a novelty each time, sufficiently close so that everyone remembers the last ones and you don't have cities bankrupting themselves at such a high rate just to host them.

Since when are the Winter Olympics every two years? To my knowledge this only happened once, 92 and 94. And that was purely because they decided going forward to stagger the summer and winter games rather than have them both in the same year.

The Olympics ruin enough cities as it is, no need to double the damage.

I actually like it when Winter and Summer are the same year, every four years. You talk about an epic year of sports.
Every two years? WWE, that you? The running-a-good-thing-into-the-ground threw me off.
And Winter games aren't every two years anyway. Actually helps answer your own question. They've made it so that casual observers don't even know what's going on because they've jacked it up.
