For all the people who rag on money in football (justifiably), the 'booking for taking a shirt off during a celebration' hurts football more for me personally not even because of the act itself but mostly because it feels like the most killjoy rule ever made by humans. 'How dare you let your passion get ahead of you for a big moment? Pfft!' Being booked for celebrating with your own fans is far worse IMO. Doing it to the opposing fans should be punished but your own fans? How dare you show a bit of passion. I know, like, unless they're going up there to punch all the fans they see, it's like...weird.

The shirt removal/celebrating with fans booking rule should be ditched. It punishes passion. A player is basically orgasmic after scoring a goal. Booking them for a perfectly understandable show of emotion is absurd.

With Rolando suspended for 5 league games, I see Real Madrid Tempoary becoming Jobbers to the Stars. I see Barcalona making a comeback in the second leg.

Real were the better team before Ronaldo came on. The Barcelona defence looked pretty suspect throughout the game and Real still have Bale, Benzema, Asensio and Isco (and possibly Modric if his suspension is up).

At this point Real are well and truly the best team in Europe, Ronaldo or no Ronaldo. They've got an embarrassment of riches in every area of the pitch, and have got some fantastic talents coming through from the youth team.
Barca, on the other hand, are in danger of suffering the same problems Manchester United suffered post-Ferguson. They're an ageing side who've failed to replace departing and past-their-prime stars with players of equal talent, and their youth team isn't turning out the kind of quality that Real are. They still have enough quality to virtually guarantee a strong fight for the title, but the signs of fatigue are noticeable.

Please God, not another World Cup in the USA. The last one was atrocious.

Please God, not another World Cup in the USA. The last one was atrocious. Plus it's been a half century since we last hosted the World Cup.

If the US/Canada/Mexico joint 2026 bid wins, we better hope Levis Stadiun isn't used for any World Cup games unless the grass is durable enough for soccer. I have a bad feeling that the 49ers will probaly have no choice but to put artificial turf in before WC2026. Rogers Center may probaly have natural grass before the 2026 WC but Rodgers is a baseball first stadium now.

Gylfi Sigurdsson's £45 million transfer to Everton has been completed. Koeman's done some decent business over the summer.

Real Madrid proving they don't need Ronaldo, cruising 2-0 against Barcelona. 5-1 on aggregate.

Spare a thought for Slaven Bilic.
Two weeks and two abysmal West Ham performances.
They've got Newcastle, Huddersfield and West Brom upcoming with a Cup match against Cheltenham up next.
I think they need at least four points from those three league matches or questions are gonna be asked in a hurry.

Arsenal got f***** royally by the ref and the linesman in that game. I'm sure Wenger took it gracefully and didn't harp on about it at all after the game
