Shaqiri scored a beauty in a friendly against Man Utd. Liverpool 4-1 up now. A couple of cracking goals in that game. Pereira could be something special for United if he keeps developing as much as he has the last couple of seasons in Spain.

So... is Chance Mbemba any good? Just signed to FC Porto and I may have an inkling you British folk might have seen him play. I've always been fond of Mbemba. Always seemed like a good ball playing defender to me but he just was never fancied by either manager he played under at our place and never really got a significant run of games. Personally think he'll do well at Porto (only 23 too) but it may turn out that Rafa is a better judge of talent than I am (wouldn't be a shock would it?).

England considering a bid for the 2030 World Cup. Well, we're hosting the semi-finals and final of Euro 2020, if that goes well we'll have firm ground for a bid.

We're one of the only countries that could host single handedly, even with the expanded format. Our ability has never been in question, it's just all the other bullcrap around it. Tho for reasons we can't talk about, not sure who'd vote for us, can't see much Uefa backing for some reason...

Experienced players failed when they were supposed to carry the younger players forwards. Club captain and legend Rafinha made a rookie mistake by attempting to dodge a cross instead of blocking it, causing a comical own goal. At 36, his pace isn't as good as it used to be and as a fullback/wingback, that isn't ideal. Surely by this time next year he is just a mentor and a rotation player.
