Kansas beats West Virginia, I guess the Wicked Witch of the West must have put a spell on WVU because she must be secretly a Kansas Jayhawks fan

Hey, what do you know? U of L actually beat Notre Dame in South Bend for the first time since about 1994. Pitino never beat the Irish on the road...David Padgett did it in one try.

Purdue looks impressive, but I need to see if Painter can get them past the Sweet Sixteen first.

Purdue looks impressive, but I need to see if Painter can get them past the Sweet Sixteen first. Sorry, but they would be more impressive if the Badgers unit they faced wasn't a massive amount of shit. Wisconsin is so bad that literally any team in Division I would wallop them.

If West Virginia wins, the Big XII/SEC challenge will end in a tie but if UK wins, the SEC wins the challenge

WVU has now blown it big time at home vs. KU and UK. I think WVU's problem is that they come out and do a shock and awe defensive full court pressure scheme that teams take a while to adjust to (witness UK's turnovers in the first half). But then finally teams regroup if they aren't horrible and quit turning it over so much, then WVU is left with their frankly dubious half court offense and a ton of empty possessions.

OK, going to do something here and see whether I can keep doing it every week until conference tournament time.
I call it, THE TEAMS FROM THE SMALLER CONFERENCES THAT YOU REALLY MAY WANT TO PAY ATTENTION TO AS THEY MAY BE IMPORTANT COME BRACKET TIME.
Basically, I exclude most of the bigger conferences (AAC, A10, ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, SEC, PAC-12. C-USA, WCC), and from the rest I take a team or two (but no more than three) that are leading or have piqued my interest for whatever reason. DISCLAIMER: I'm not an expert. If I were, I'd be better at predicting what WWE is going to do on a regular basis.
Entries are written as follows: COMFERENCE: School Name (Conference record, Overall record)
AMERICA EAST: Vermont (7-0, 17-5), Maryland-Baltimore County (6-2, 15-8), Albany (5-4, 17-7) ATLANTIC SUN: Florida Gulf Coast (7-0, 16-8), Lipscomb (4-3, 14-8) BIG SKY: Montana (9-0, 16-5), Weber State (6-2, 13-7) BIG SOUTH: UNC-Asheville (7-3, 14-9), Winthrop (7-3, 13-8), Radford (7-3, 14-9) BIG WEST: Hawaii (4-1, 13-5), UC-Santa Barbara (5-2, 16-5) COLONIAL: William & Mary (7-3, 14-7). Charleston (7-3, 16-6), Towson (5-5, 15-8) HORIZON: Wright State (8-1, 16-6), Northern Kentucky (7-2, 14-7) IVY: Harvard (4-0, 9-10), Pennsylvania (3-0, 13-6) METRO ATLANTIC: Rider (8-2, 15-7), Niagara (7-3, 14-9) MID-AMERICAN: Buffalo (8-0, 16-5), Toledo (7-1, 15-6) MID-EASTERN: Savannah State (6-1, 9-13), North Carolina A&T (6-1, 13-9) MISSOURI VALLEY: Loyola (Illinois) (7-2, 17-4), Southern Illinois (6-4, 14-9), Bradley (5-4, 15-7) MOUNTAIN WEST: Nevada (7-1, 18-4), Boise State (8-2, 18-4) NORTHEAST: Robert Morris (7-2, 13-9), Wagner (7-2, 14-6) OHIO VALLEY: Belmont (9-1, 17-6), Murray State (8-2, 16-5) PATRIOT: Bucknell (8-1, 14-8), Colgate (7-3, 12-9), Navy (5-5, 14-9) SOUTHERN: East Tennessee State (9-0, 18-4), UNC-Greensboro (7-1, 16-5) SOUTHLAND: New Orleans (8-2, 11-10), Nicholls State (7-2, 13-9), Southeast Louisiana (7-2, 13-9) SOUTHWESTERN: Arkansas-Pine Bluff (7-1, 7-15), Jackson State (6-2, 9-12), Grambling State (5-3, 9-12) SUMMIT: South Dakota State (6-1, 18-6), South Dakota (6-2, 18-6) SUN BELT: Louisiana-Lafayette (9-0, 19-3), Georgia State (7-2, 16-6) WESTERN: New Mexico State (6-0, 18-3), Utah Valley (5-1, 16-6), Seattle (4-2, 15-8)

North Carolina losing to N.C. State at home is bad. We hate losing to Duke but at least they have an excellent team every year. Losing to State is like getting beat up by your kid brother.

Giving up 15 threes at home to a team who was struggling from 3 was just ridiculous. I was there at the game and it was just embarrassing and maddening. No way Carolina should have lost to those jerks at home.
