Don't be surprised if more teams get swept up in these, either. I remember seeing that at least a couple dozen university programs are under investigation by the FBI. This is gonna get f***in' ugly. And consequently, more Benoiting from NCAA history to come!

This is not due to the whole Adidas deal that got Pitino and Jurich fired. This is the idiocy known as the Katina Powell nonsense that was in no way, shape, or form serious enough to warrant all of this. As a lifelong U of L fan I have to admit my fandom is basically done after today. Honestly what is the point of even caring or following a team in a sport if the team's accomplishments can be wiped away over a couple of guys getting lapdances from strippers?
All of this while UNC basically got away with having completely fraudulent classes for TWO DECADES that should have caused at least the 2005 and 2009 titles to be vacated. Either way the whole FBI aspect of college hoops is not over. I wouldn't be shocked if nearly every major team that won a title in the past 15 years has it vacated because nearly everyone had a player that was taking shoe company money.

In other words: Prepare for a whole lotta BENOITING from NCAA history which will also lead to The Bob Holly University Spark Plugs retroactively gaining a huge dominant college men's basketball dynasty in the process that'll probaly be greater then U-Con

They'll cover it up first. The NCAA has shown it is willing to throw the book at U of L over 20.00 lap dances but the truly sacred cows will likely emerged unscathed with this all covered up. They will just say the programs and universities themselves didn't do the actual payoffs or whatever, as though that has stopped teams from vacating before (Marcus Camby and UMass). The most obvious to vacate is Syracuse in 2003, who rather obviously had a ton of sketchy stuff going on. The Cuse fits the profile nicely too, big time program to make an example out of, but not one of the untouchables. In other words I'll believe it when I see Duke, UNC, Kansas, or UK stripped of national titles.
Let me also rant on the idiocy of how U of L handled the Powell situation. So this woman publishes a piece of crap book alleging all of these strip party shenanigans. None of this was ever proven in court or anything, in fact a grand jury laughed it out of court last year (none of the girls could identify a player or recruit, and vice versa). But U of L's administration in its infinite wisdom simply agreed that a lot of what she said actually happened when there was scant proof! There is nothing positive that can come from working hand in hand with the NCAA. U of L should have stonewalled them, threatened counter suits, or just ignored it until the courts just threw it out and then I bet the whole thing would have simply blown over.
The sad thing is that right now U of L doesn't even have a real president or AD to rail against this ruling. These Matt Bevin appointed crackpots are more than glad to take this punishment and not take the NCAA to court, even though the notion that 3 players would be retroactively ruled ineligible over such a laughable money amount is an absolute farce. At worst what these guys did, if true, would amount to a minor reimbursement of money and a couple of hours of community service and certainly not any sort of permanent ineligibility.

If this happens...every National Champion in this decade except Nova and UCONN will be vacated. If it's true, it will be known as NCAA's Great Benoiting as a lot of championships will be Benoited from history and removed from NCAA's continuity. Also, the mass vacatings/Benoitings will ensure the dynasty of Bob Holly University that could rival the UConn Women's team

Sounds like Sean Miller paid a player 100K So after everything that's went down today, Springfield University is the favorites to win it all, right?

If this happens...every National Champion in this decade except Nova and UCONN will be vacated. Even Nova and UCONN might get vacatings when all of this is done. If the big ticket schools are in- it's not even just "every major college title of the last 15-20 years", up to and including tournament appearances. Make no mistake- every major conference team- from the top teams down to the last place teams, have at least one player taking sneaker company money. And likely most of the mid-major conferences too (hell, it would not shock me in the least if every D-I men's team has players getting sneaker company money.) With how deep the rabbit hole goes, it may go past "vacate every major college title of the past 15-20 years" and go straight to "WE GIVE. IT'S OVER. YOU WIN. YOU FINALLY WIN. We'll pay the players!"

Somebody let me know when they vacate Duke's title and give it to Butler NO! ANYTHING BUT THAT! ANYTHING!!!! (Seriously, I still f***ing hate Butler for making everyone else in the Horizon League, including Green Bay, into total jobbers. Leaving the Horizon has not made my opinion of Butler any better.)

Taken Titles away is so damn stupid. Everyone knows that Louisville won it in 2013 and USC won it with Bush in company on the football side

Everyone knows that Louisville won it in 2013 and USC won it with Bush in company on the football side As Rece Davis said when hyping the Texas vs USC football game this year, of course they talked about that Rose Bowl, "Vacating games is stupid! It only irritates fans and confuses statisticians. And we all saw the game, and it's one of the great memories. And no rule or vacating can change that memory."
