Simmons and Fulltz looked fantastic Them and Embiid healthy could shock some teams. I got Philly as the 8th seed team in the East this year with like 38 wins They have the Raw talent and they will make mistakes because their young but the East is pedestrian this year that you can't really count anyone out of the 7th and 8th seed and assuming they are healthy Philly should be able squeak in there I hope Saric is in the starting lineup, guy can ball.

I assume Philly line up consist of Fultz, Reddick, Simmons, Saric, and Embiid You still end up with a good bench that consist of Bayless, Covington, Okafor, Johnson, and Staukas They can and probably will move Okafor eventually and get some value for him so they still got a good little squad

I just hope they don't do something stupid like starting Covington over Dario.

I actually like Covington starting. He's better on D and Saric adds much needed scoring on 2nd unit.

Pacers walked all over Milwaukee last night.
I'm guessing the Bucks might have a rough year if this is an indication.

I just wanna say I'm so glad basketball is back. The NBA is my shit, even if the finals are predictable.

There's been some talk about tinkering with the playoff structure lately, So I've been wondering: Would it be possible or at all feasible to reduce the number of playoff teams to 4 each conference? That way, only the very good/great teams with a realistic chance of winning the title are in. There would be less complaining (maybe) about the West being much stronger than the East where the 5-8 seeded teams from the East are bad. And it might curtail tanking, although I get there's no way to prevent someone going Philly Sixers again.
Might not happen ever though, since the teams and league overall lose money with all those playoff games going away. And I get there's been lower half seeds to win it all, though not very often.

Yea as you said no way they reduct the teams that make the playoffs because that will be lost revenue They will probably just revamp it to have the 16 best teams make it which will probably make the playoffs longer because the travel could potentially be out of whack

Nic Batum tore a ligament in his elbow and will be out at least 2-3 months. Malik Monk is gonna have to step up in his absence

I think the balance is so bad in the NBA right now and can be so bad sometimes that kind of precludes any big change to the playoff format. You can't just have the best 16 teams because at this point, and maybe at different points down the road, you have over half a conference (and entire divisions potentially) playing for nothing. Take LeBron out of the Central next year and it's bad. But as the NBA, you still want their money, right? You also have to take into account the playoff start time and TV perspective. You need about an equal amount of teams from the East and West coast for start times. If 11 of your 16 playoff teams are from the Western, how are you gonna manage that? If half your Eastern teams played last night and half are on the road playing Western teams (which the NBA would also hate), what do you do?
I just don't see them doing it from a logistical standpoint. It could be a nightmare. I mean, there is already enough time between games IMO between teams who are only a couple hundred miles apart. But doing coast to coast, and maybe multiple rounds? I'd love to see the best 16 teams, but I can definitely see why they wouldn't do it.

Martin is one of those guys whose play I liked for a long time, but the man himself is an idiot and a hothead.
