Dean looks so mad that he had to new different clothes. You know how hard it is to find tactical gear in the dumpster

Deep down inside I'm wishing Dean turns on them especially as payback. For Roman beating him at Survivor Series and Seth for the blood feud years ago. We all wanted Dean to be a super heel, the WWE is just sitting on a perfect moment right now. I actually think that turning Roman after a few months of feel good reunion would draw like gangbusters. Give people a reason to boo.

I actually think that turning Roman after a few months of feel good reunion would draw like gangbusters. Give people a reason to boo. Which won't happen, because the WWE refuses to do anything that isn't set up to garner massive positive cheers for the WrestleMania moment they've been building to for the last 5 years (despite it being the exact same 'moment' they've tried to make for the last three consecutive shows...).

Maybe it's poor memory, or maybe the Mandela effect but I swear Roman Reigns used to be much taller and more jacked than Rollins and Ambrose.
He looked like a puffier version of both. Didn't seem much taller, if taller at all.

Eh, it's all just OK for me. Like it was said before the Shield already existed somewhat in Roman's theme music and ring attire. We've already seen The Shield have mini-reunions through the years in multi-man matches, and we've already had The Shield triple threat match in 2016. Also it's weird seeing these guys back in the SWAT garb; Rollins' current attire is now pretty iconic and this scruffier/lankier Ambrose doesn't look as natural in the armor as the buff clean-cut version from 2013.
I'm still excited for their match at TLC though and I really hope they squeeze in a New Day match at Survivor Series.

these stable reunions feel so cheap. It's only been five years and they're already pulling the trigger on this one?
I haven't really kept up with the product outside of a few youtube clips, but are they doing this as a last ditch effort to get Reigns over or something? I don't get it.

Didn't seem much taller, if taller at all. Yep that's what I'm saying. Reigns is billed at 6'3, Rollins at 6'1 and Ambrose is the tallest at 6'4. He's just always slouching and the narrative is that Reigns is "bigger and taller than both" so they go with that. It's the same reason why the camera angles change a lot to make it appear that Reigns is so much bigger. Just look at that backstage Shield mini-reunion a few weeks ago. Reigns appeared to be so much bigger than Ambrose but then when the camera changed and Rollins got in the picture his height switched. It's funny to me lol.

Just from watching the YT clips of this, this has DX merch reunion written all over it too. That's fine, make your money ya know? But the reunion feels cheap to me personally. Most others seem to be happy with it so it seems to be working, that's a positive, but I've been looking forward to them reuniting and it feels hollow to me.

I haven't really kept up with the product outside of a few youtube clips, but are they doing this as a last ditch effort to get Reigns over or something? I don't get it. Shield will be reuniting repeatedly until they end their careers similar to DX. Besides using this to help Reigns out (while it's helping him, when it's over he'll get booed to the usual degree) it's also used for Ambrose and Rollins. Interestingly enough, Ambrose and Rollins have elevated past their former selves, they've entered some new "mix" while Reigns feels like he's gone backwards. If this leads to an Ambrose heel turn and Rollins WM match like we think it will then shit they'll have benefited the most from this reunion rather than Reigns. It's kinda funny. The reunion was made to help Reigns out but Ambrose and Rollins are the ones benefiting the most. It's like when they became single's stars. Yep that's what I'm saying. Reigns is billed at 6'3, Rollins at 6'1 and Ambrose is the tallest at 6'4. He's just always slouching and the narrative is that Reigns is "bigger and taller than both" so they go with that. They didn't. That was the original theme. It seems to be a mixture of both. In the OG theme the squealy main guitar riff is more prominent than in the Reigns version. It was definitely closer to Truth Reigns than Special Ops. Yeah, it definitely didn't sound like Special Ops. Which is a shame because Truth Reigns sounds kinda awful. And yeah, the magic of The Shield is gone for me. They're only doing it to waste time until WrestleMania season and it seems pretty clear what the intent of it is. Which is funny because Roman was still getting booed.

Most others seem to be happy with it so it seems to be working, that's a positive, but I've been looking forward to them reuniting and it feels hollow to me. I'm with you on this 100%. They spent more time getting Rollins and Ambrose working together again than they did a quick opener having the three unite after so long. They really didn't give any motivation to Rollins and Ambrose after the whole "they're doing their own thing, I'm doing mine" aside from The Bar showing up at one random segment to attack Roman. That same emptiness could be felt when they attacked Strowman later on in the same show as their reunion, which felt half-assed and pointless. Sure, the three of them had a "history" with him, but Rollins and Ambrose both VOLUNTARILY challenged Braun to a match. How does that in any way lead to them poking that bear if for no other reason than to add him to the match? I'll answer myself: it doesn't. They're deliberately having to throw more bodies onto this pile all in the name of trying to improve Roman's image. It's desperate booking, and for myself it's just not working. Even the nostalgia of The Shield entrance is nullified when you've got a guy who has NEVER left the gimmick behind coming in to boos for years now with the same music/entrance. Adding a bit of NATO phonetic alphabetic words isn't going to suddenly change that reaction to overwhelming cheers...and the less than two weeks of time they gave to this just rushes the point and boils it down to nothing more than another 'moment' for them. The better play would have been for Roman to challenge Miz for the IC title at TLC (after The Bar won their titles back from Rollins/Ambrose due to Strowman destroying them), have The Bar & Strowman show up and destroy Roman with chairs or whatever...and end TLC with a Shield Reunion to set up the main event at Survivor Series, which would make FAR more sense on a Big Four show whose main premise is multi-man tag matches. Guarantee you we'll see the rematch in a month's time anyways, because they're getting beyond WWE predictable at this point...

Roman’s Cousins Vs. Roman’s Brothers But whose side is he on, indeed.

But imagine the money they could make on a heel Roman now. I don't need to keep imagining ways the WWE could better utilize their talent when they've proven time and time again this year that their own narrative will override any kind of crowd response if their endgame is Roman being the top guy of the company. They've had three red hot opportunities to pull the trigger on a heel Roman: when he 'retired' the Undertaker and had to face the post-WrestleMania Raw crowd, when he rammed the back of an ambulance into a truck with Strowman inside after losing at Great Balls of Fire, and when they fed him Cena just last month. Each time they did it, he could've rode the waves to great opportunities; but with a little hand-waving and "I now respect my defeated opponent" segments, they sweep all the progress they make under the rug to pave the way for the next 'challenge/victim'. At this point, I can't recommend anyone expecting anything coming from a Roman Reigns program until post-WrestleMania when they've exhausted the entire roster against him and bury Lesnar so he can be the last sight everyone sees at the closing of that PPV. AFTER that, we'll see what the WWE does...but Vince has wedged an iron bar into the accelerator, and we ain't stopping until we reach the end of the Road to WrestleMania.

are they doing this as a last ditch effort to get Reigns over or something? I don't get it. Everything is a last ditch effort to get Roman over. Given he was still booed last night they’re gonna have to dig a little deeper to find something else after this.

The sum is greater than the parts, just like with New Day and the Wyatts. But the way they acted on Monday, all unified and cohesive just SCREAMED someone's going to turn on his Shield brothers. Stupid move considering how over they are and seem to be genuinely turning it up a notch, which is why I think Vince will do it. Because it's just THAT stupid.
