Anyone ever remember the angle when Lance Storm was going into his match or cutting a promo and Steve Austin would come out to give his opinion on Storm being boring?
Did anything ever come from this? I have always thought Lance was a great talent and other than him kicking off the invasion and a brief Intercontinental Championship run he was underused and could have been a solid upper midcard guy who maybe gets the occasional World title opportunity.
Certainly a feud with him & Austin could have potentially been entertaining and a good opportunity to show what he is capable of doing.
Maybe I missed something but I think a Lance Storm & 'Stone Cold' feud would have been good to see.

I know eventually they also found out that Lance Storm had a huge wiener.

People can say what they want, but I'll always love Lance Storm for that slow head turn he used to do when someone's music would interrupt his promo.

Lance is one of the only things latter day WCW got mostly right.
He was over as hell, he was deliberately boring on the mic but great in the ring, had a killer catchphrase (something WCW never did as well as WWF), won loads of gold and would have been a viable world title contender.
The WWF were never as good at getting workrate guys over and they didn't get the difference between boring as a person and boring as a wrestler.
It also shows how stupid they sometimes are, because even removing the actual dichotomy of Storm's previous character being ignored... Who the f*** is getting over when you call a wrestler boring? The boring wrestler isn't. The guy beating a boring wrestler is getting less over in a boring match with them. It was so stupid.

I'm not saying wrestling fans can't adapt to much more detailed stories but there are reasons why stories are basic and perception is really important. If you give someone a losing streak angle, unless you're a Mikey Whipwreck or a Tommy Dreamer or someone of that ilk, people are going to, shock horror, think of you as a loser. If you go around calling someone bland and hype that up every week, especially if the babyface is doing it, people'll think you're bland. I'm not even saying you respect everyone and not have reasons to feud and such but it's not hard to not make your talent look like shit. If they were shit, they wouldn't have been hired for pete sake.

Some streamers where doing a charity stream for a cancer charity. They asked a bunch of wrestlers just to retweet the link for people to watch. Lance storm ended up going on some horse shit rant against it Edit: a bit more details tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Heartwarming/NewLegacyInc

I think the fact that he got over in WCW is why they didn't do a whole lot with him; as little sense as that makes-you won the war Vince, may as well make some money off of the guys that you brought in.
Then again he probably forgot to shake the Undertaker's hand after the 4th minute of the 3rd match of the night after Rikishi did his spin bump but before he landed from said bump, but after Cole said "Oh my!" or some other such nonsense.

Maybe I missed something but I think a Lance Storm & 'Stone Cold' feud would have been good to see. Austin was kinda done wrestling by this point. Him cutting a promo on Lance was just a way to softball Lance into a new midcard gimmick where the serious guy suddenly becomes a FUN-LOVING DANCER. While a full feud between 2000 Serious Heel Lance Storm and 1998 Ass Kicker Steve Austin would have been amazing, by the time this happened, both guys had one foot out the door already.

According to Storm on his podcast, the original idea was to push that his personality was boring, not his wrestling.
There were going to be little storylines where Austin would do things like ban Storm from using the microphone because him talking would put the crowd to sleep. However, Storm would still be pushed as a great wrestler and say things like "What does it matter if you find me boring? I'm not here to entertain all of you. I'm here to win matches and I'm doing that." Ultimately this was to lead to Storm becoming more entertaining and turning face to help Austin against Jericho (this was leading up to Survivor Series 2003 when Jericho was petitioning to get Austin fired).
What happened was that the lines of communication were crossed and the announcers started talking about how boring Storm's wrestling was instead of his character. Then they changed plans, decided against putting Storm on Austin's team at Survivor Series, and stopped booking him as a winner and started having him job every week. So then not only is Storm boring but he sucks too. And it never lead anywhere. No wonder it didn't get him over.

Lance Storm when he was at his peak would be a wrestler I'd have top of my list to sign for me If I owned a wrestling federation.
Always thought he was excellent and his purposely being boring on the mike was good too.
His work with The Un-Americans deserves respect too

Lance Storm reading his prepared statement to defend himself is like, one of my favorite promos ever.
"If it's bells and whistles you're after, I suggest you attend a circus."

Lance was one of my favorite guys back in the day, and I’ll be forever bummed he didn’t become a stalwart in the Intercontinental Title picture.
