What really gets me is that he can't even make the effort to paint his face. He just wears a cheap mask that he got from Dollar General. Hell I've seen Doinks in small indies that at least use face paint and look closer to the real deal then this guy. I could decent Doink paint job myself in 20 minutes, I don't know why he doesn't bother. Why would he bother when painted or wearing a mask he gets the same reactions from the crowd. At a show Fat Fake Doink was working under his other gimmick, heard him telling some younger wrestlers how he was The WWF Doink after Borne was fired. After he left the "locker room" another vet laughed. "Guys,REDACTED is a nice guy but full of more shit that a portapotty. Closest he has come to working for WWE is when he goes to house shows in Mobile."

Those idiots would be taught respect.

Those idiots would be taught respect. From what I have seen/heard on the Indy scene you got three reasons why people are Indy wrestlers. 1.lifelong fan that has always wanted to wrestle and doesn't care about money. 2.People that do it for extra income. 3.A combo of the two. From the little time I was around Fat Fake Doink he seems to fall into category 2. Until that Golden Corral match went viral Fat Fake Doink was unknown outside AL. Now he is known worldwide. The show I met him at also had Eddie Gilcrist there,he was the ring announcer for the Golden Corral match, and the guy who shot and uploaded the GC match. Neither had any idea the video had went viral. The next day we were in Bessermer AL for a Wrestle Birmingham show. Got there 4 hours early,so to pass The time myself and some of the wrestlers were wAtching what ever matches I had on my laptop. Robert Fuller ended up watching the GC match with us and loved it. Same with Jimmy Golden and Tracy Smothers. Was a bit surprised old school southern wrestlers like those 3 would enjoy the match. There are better ways to teach respect for wrestling than stretching and stuffing students. It is crap like that that has chased away some possibly good talent. There was up until last year 3 wrestling schools in MS. 2 don't stretch or stiff the students. Both schools are still around and have produced some good talent. 1 of them stiffed the Hell of of students. The school produced no wrestlers that lasted longer than a few months and is now closed. Got to sit in and watch a training session of Luke Hawx's Wildkat wrestling school. Sure Luke is a hit gruff and hard on the students, but he doesn't stiff or stretch them. And Wildkat is the biggest and as of right now the only fed in the deep south with prime time TV.

Alabama Doink even made the Alabama website because apparently it was a slow news day in Alabama. www.al.com/news/mobile/index.ssf/2017/10/mobile_funeral_home_donates_ca.html"Kenmar Family Funeral Homes has offered, for years, a professional and personalized service to meet a family's wishes. Motorcyclists have been buried in Harley Davidson-themed caskets. Firefighters have had services held at Kenmar with fire equipment showcased throughout the funeral home's 185-seat chapel. And occasionally, the family-owned business will encounter professional wrestlers. For instance, Kenmar handled the funeral for Gulf Coast wrestling legend Mike "Hippy" Boyette in 2012. But donating a casket for a wrestling event? This is a first for the Kenmar family which CEO A.E. Kenmar, 47, and his sons, Evan and Daniel. One of their caskets will be utilized as a professional wrestling prop during a Halloween-themed event Saturday at the Semmes Community Center. Doors open at 7 p.m. and belltime is 8 p.m. Admission is $10. "From what I've seen in the past, I always thought that someone brought it as a prop," said A.E. Kenmar, who has been in the funeral business since the early 2000s. "When Daniel said, 'if you participate, it will help promote us,' I thought it could be a win-win for both sides." The casket match, which will be part of the main event during an Alabama Wrestling Federation event, became a popular attraction during World Wrestling Entertainment matches in the 1990s. Wrestling legend, The Undertaker, often wrestled - and won - the matches. One of his "victims" was John Heidenreich, who once performed in the WWE and was a former tag team champion with Road Warrior Animal. Heidenreich will compete against Dwaine "Doink the Clown" Henderson, whose family has owned and operated the AWF for years. His 19-year-old son, Shannon, currently operates and books matches for the independent wrestling promotion. It's really true that John Heidenreich is scared of caskets," said Shannon, who also competes as The Patriot and has been wrestling since he was 10 years old. "He has a phobia of caskets and wheelchairs and stuff of that nature. He thinks it's bad luck if you get thrown into a casket." Dwaine Henderson has been there before, losing a casket match years ago. "I'm a big guy," said Henderson, acknowledging the eeriness of having a casket door slammed on top of him that solidifies the ending of the wrestling match. "I said my prayers." Daniel Kenmar, the CFO of the funeral home, will be at the match and he will be charged with shutting the casket whenever the loser is tossed into it. "I pretty much volunteered to do it," said Kenmar, who grew up a professional wrestling fan. "It's a cool idea." The casket match is also the first to occur in Mobile since William "Paul Bearer" Moody died in 2013. Moody was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame during Wrestlemania 30 in New Orleans later that year. A.E. Kenmar remembers the former wrestling manager, who used to wheel caskets to the WWE rings as a manager for The Undertaker, stopping into his funeral home during the early 2000s. Moody was a licensed mortician, working out of a funeral home in Moss Point, Miss., before he became a professional wrestling namesake. "He left his urn somewhere once and had to do a promo (for WWE) so he asked to borrow an urn for us," Kenmar recalled the last time one of his funeral home items was utilized as a professional wrestling prop. "He brought it back." Kenmar said he and Moody would often just "shoot the breeze." Moody was a graduate of McGill Institute in 1972, and called Mobile his home even while he traveled internationally with WWE. But the two rarely talked business. "The last thing a funeral director wants to do is talk about the business," Kenmar said. "I remember him talking about (the WWE) wanting to bring him back and he would say that it's like the funeral industry. You can only get away from it when you die." So Alabama Doink is the promoter so that answers why f***ing Alabama Doink is booked on top.

I really miss Mike The California Hippie Boyette. Saw him as a child and never realized how talented he was. Then in the late 90s got a Best of Mike Boyette off Jeff Lynch maybe, and saw that Boyette was one of the best sellers and bumpers. I need to find the YouTube clip of Mike on some Mobile late night talk show. It is almost odder than the infamous Crispen Glover kicking Letterman incident.

I like that the 19 year old son is the booker and has been wrestling since he's ten and works as The Patriot. It's the epitome of independent wrestling sleaze.

Del Wilkes is rolling in his grave, then Tom Brandi who stole the gimmick is rolling in his grave, then Honky Tonk Man who bought the gimmick from Brandi is rolling in his grave.

Alabama Doink was in Australia? I bet he was booked as the ultimate heel. Joey Janella and GAS wanted Alabama Doink for the Janella's Spring Break show. But Doink wanted 1000 and a first class plane ticket. That's something that the Matt Borne Doink could get away with asking for. Alabama Doink would be lucky to get his regular pay plus a seat in the cargo hold.

Hmmm well he could afford to rent a casket that's something right?? Despite the funeral parlor guy yelling at him not to bleed on the casket or risk losing the deposit.

Asked around, supposedly AWF is one of 2 FeDS in AL that makes a profit off each show. So Fat Fake Doink is doing something right.
He is smart, usually he runs tiny rural towns. Where there is nothing to do. So any kind of event draws. IIRC Playboy Don has mentioned how a donkey basketball game drew a huge crowd in his area for the same reasons.
AWF is aimed at ,and i kinda hate this word, marks. It isn't aimed at smarks, smarts or IWC people.

The first game was standing room only with cars pulling over to the side of the road because there was nowhere left to park. Several months later, they brought it back and drew another great crowd, but not as crazy as the first. The bleachers are normally full for elementary school basketball games. Naturally, family accounts for some, but a lot of it is just people wanting something to do. My poverty stricken rural county in east Tennessee is 3rd in the nation for opioid prescriptions. People are desperate for a distraction and not everyone is into the dope scene, thankfully.

And stuff like the 2 times a year county fair/lions club fair draw huge crowds. When BIW was running 5 go 6 shows a year at the county civic center they were drawing 250 to 300 every show. Even the community theatre and MS high school of the arts plays draw big crowds. People in lots of rural areas want cheap good entertainment. Sadly for some it is ,as you mentioned, drug abuse.
