With the new movie out next month this is something I have done since Episode 7.
Kind of hard to believe 7 was out just 2 years ago.
Who else has went back and rewatch the series?
Maybe we can get this thread really active

TBS and TNT tend to show marathons of the first six episodes every so often. Always makes for a fun watch on a boring weekend afternoon.
I'll probably go a step further and watch Rogue One between the prequel and original trilogies.

I had a rewatch earlier this month. Still not overly keen on Force Awakens but, I'm hoping the next 2 make up for it. Rogue One is great.

In the future Disney's streaming service will come in handy. Good thing I still will have the Blu-Rays

I'm gonna rewatch them. The Force Awakens is going back into cinemas for a couple of days next month here (Japan), so I'm going to try and catch it again, and watch the rest at home.

You have to agree the Order 66 scene was the one of the best of the whole series

Now RO people might hate this but I think its better then 7 Agreed. The Force Awakens worked in getting people excited about Star Wars again, which was its main goal. I can overlook that it's essentially A New Hope remake with a few twists to the formula for that reason. Rogue One hopefully showed where they're going in the future, exploring other pockets of the lore and not being afraid to take some pretty radical risks with the storytelling.

I'm going to rewatch Rogue One and Force Awakens at least.
I watched all of the movies before Force Awakens came out two years ago, and maybe it was the excitement, but I didn't think the prequels were as bad as I previously thought. Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith have their flaws, but are overall still enjoyable. Phantom Menace stands out as being particularly disappointing, but even that has its moments.

You have to agree the Order 66 scene was the one of the best of the whole series And it's even more tragic if you've watched the Clone Wars series. You grew attached to the clones, you liked them, they viewed the Jedi as their brothers and sisters, but they had no choice thanks to the chip. At least Rex, Gregor, and Wolfe removed their chips. f*** you Palpatine, the Jedi and clones were victims of you.

If I had to pick a flaw with it, we should have got to know one of the Jedi who got diced beyond the occasional background scene. Would have added to the emotional impact if we knew them from Episode 1 or 2. It's a minor nitpick though, it was a terrific scene.

I think the prequels are alright but for me it's Clones which is dreadful and the other 2 which are decent (Menace) and good (Revenge). Clones I thought was a big waste of time up until the final 30-40 minutes. The Geonosis battle was great. Menace had the most notable flaws but, would be a solid movie if they were removed (Main flaws for me, Jar Jar, Anakin, too much politics). Simplify the plot, remove Jar Jar and make Anakin Luke's age and it would have been fine. I'd have also had Maul survive and EP 2 be centered around bthe hunt for him.

I have the 6-pack of the original saga on Blu Ray and that includes the prequels. I am a little iffy about checking out the edited versions of A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. I will marathon them to prepare for The Last Jedi.

Clones I thought was a big waste of time up until the final 30-40 minutes. The Geonosis battle was great. For me the Obi-Wan scenes in Clones make up for the terrible Anakin/Padme stuff. Then the battle at the end is a lot of fun to watch. Especially seeing Yoda fight. Phantom Menace starts off fun, then Jar Jar gets more and more annoying as things continue. Then Anakin adds to that, and when they get to Coruscant, things slow to a crawl. Then the movie picks up again and the last act is fun, with the exception of Anakin destroying the ship seemingly by dumb luck. People who say Phantom Menace is one of the worst movies ever haven't seen many movies I'm guessing, but it's still the one Star Wars movie I revisit the least.
