...ya know that episode of the Simpsons with the fire drill? Where Homer is the first one out and barricades the door? That is how I'm choosing to picture James, even if it's not accurate (other people have left just this past week or two). Abyss: Cheer up, Nordholm. Sure, all of the company's most well-known and popular stars are gone, but you still have Abyss. YOU ALL STILL HAVE ABYSS! *Nordholm cries even harder*

Hope to see him in NXT soon, doors open for him, I think he has a few solid years left in him, would be nice to see him get a last genuine run in to be one last middle finger to this corpse of a company.

He had a weird career, Chris Harris became his Jannetty and then he's also Roode's Jannetty.

He and his wife were trying for another kid and he couldn't commit to the NXT touring schedule. Had nothing to do with money or a push. Was that reported? I don't remember it. That certainly changes the way I think about how he chose tna instead of nxt. Been his stated reason for a bit now. He's talked about it in a few interviews. Also heard WWE wanted him sooner, teaming with Chris Harris, but he had a year left on his TNA deal. He tried to get Harris to take a one year deal with TNA so they could go together but Harris signed anyway. Well, Braden Walker happened and Storm's offer disappeared like so many slices of pizza at a buffet.

Regarding Braden Walker, a fan told Lance Storm to have some compassion for the guy because of the wellness policy and how it affected Harris, Lance then told the fan "are sit-ups banned too?"

Roode might be WWE champion soon, and Storm might be heading to NXT in the twilight of his career. As someone who's made a lot of questionable choices in their own life I can't judge but.... Jesus...

I'd like to see him work a program with Silas Young.

I wouldn't be shocked if WWE doesn't want him. I really don't see where he would fit in with the current NXT and their roster. I think Ricochet is the next known talent from outside that they will focus on. Plus, Storm is 40 and I get the impression that WWE saw it as him trying use them to get a better deal out of TNA 2 years ago. I dont think WWE overlooks things from the past unless it's a big name who they can make money with.

I really don't think WWE would take it personally that he just couldn't commit to them right at that time.

I wonder if they’d give him the same kind of “player-coach” role that they gave Eric Young, where he’s a regular TV fixture as a mentor for a group of their young prospects like EY is for Sanity. Maybe he can be the manager for like Blake and Cutler or something.

The thing is, that's a pretty easy platitude to throw out there to a talent that really doesn't have a ton of value for his age at this point, that he can then turn around and say "Well, that sucks, buddy, but you're just not what we need right now." and not really lose much by passing on Storm.

Prichard also said regarding Storm that in his mind while James might be good in tna, he would get exposed in the main roster.
Apparently his rep was that he's lazy and doesn't give a hundred percent each match. Bruce said that if James likes the storyline and the program then he works his ass off, but if he doesn't like it he's lazy. I agree with that, in his feud with Roode he performed well, but like in that feud he had with Magnus he was the shits, also in the team he had with Bram and Kingston.

He really, really needed to have stayed with NXT in 2015. It's entirely possible he would be on the main roster right now with Roode. I could see maybe going back to TNA if they promised him some massive push, but what has he done? The DCC? I feel like WWE would have preferred to have Roode as a singles guy, regardless, but I could have seen James paired with someone had he stayed.

Also that can be said with pretty much everybody. Like for instance people were saying that Tony Shiavonni was bad in WCW in the last few years but the guy had to describe the worst product ever. Rarely can we see guys give all they have on something they don't believe it, it's impossible to polish a thurd. Even Roode when he was last in TNA, he wasn't a shadow of his former self. But these programs the moment they left Spike were abysmall.

If anything as already pointed out he's doing the trainer/wrestler role like EY Maybe it might find something else that he's good at it like how Aries was with commentary and it could stick for him At worst I would expect James to stay home for a while and just have a loose affiliation with WWE in regards to being a guest trainer and shit every now and again

James would have sort of been like EY in regards to pairing him with some young people he can mentor and work with. If anything they would have been paired together much later to keep both guys fresh and once again work with some young talent along with established guys.

And that is not a bad gig. Especially for someone like him that is not as old as guys like Arn Anderson, he could do that for a while.
