If this is the case, that is significant money and less travel, both things he probably needed and wanted if his wife just had a kid.

Roode: That's what I pay my driver.
In all seriousness I'm glad he got the money he was promised.

I think $150k was disclosed online as soon as he signed for TNA. Anyway that's proper living, can't save much off of it but considering this is TNA we are talking about it's good enough.

In all seriousness I'm glad he got the money he was promised. Yeah, good on him actually getting paid. (especially when he signed that wasn't exactly a given.) Though I can't help but think that his salary is why Bobby and Eric are now in NXT.

Well the rumor was when EY and Bobby left they were owed more than 6 figures combined That money that they didn't get could have def gone to James which you could potentially add in the screw up pile for TNA In the end that worked out best for them as far as career wise and i'm pretty sure both guys are getting much more than what they came in with especially Roode who's on the main roster now and EY is a coach/trainer and active wrestler

Good for him for getting that money, but why would TNA even pay him that much? He isn’t a game changer of any sort to make that much scratch

Still kinda shitty long term planning because it kept him away from the more lucrative long term prize (WWE) and he should have been aware that TNA contracts aren't a good long term investment.

So he actually did get that much money?
No doubt that must've caused issues with the rest of the company, but hey, if he was able to negotiate for that much, then good on him.

James Storm the man stepped up for his family, not everybody gets that income in life.
That being said I hope his wife and child never forget what he did for them, James gave up the biggest opportunity in his career for them. Let's face it, Storm started as a job guy in wcw in dark matches and to the vast majority of casual fans they have no fn idea who he is.
James Storm is someone who probably doesn't gets stopped in airports and asked for autographs. Nobody in the history of the world will ever dress up in Halloween as him. He'll never get to hang out with famous people or be an important guest anywhere. Storm wrestled the bulk of his career inside a soundstage in front of tourists who never were wrestling fans. Now James ended his tna career inside a church without air conditioning and running water, in front of non union actors who were paid to attend the show.
Meanwhile Bobby Roode main evented a ppv watched by millions around the globe.
Taking care of your family comes first, but there's gotta be a part inside James asking himself if it could've been him in that ring with Triple H.

It was still a huge gamble because he was coming back to reform a team with a dude who was owed more money than a lot of people make in a year, so I'm still not taking back any government cheese jokes, but I'm glad to see he got what he was promised. Anthem has done a lot of shit to screw the wrestlers over but they at least seem to have given everyone the money they were owed, so the decision worked out for him in the end. If he can waltz back into NXT now like nothing happened and either get a trainer job or a main roster run with a big payday, then it's all in all a pretty big win for him. Better he made what he wanted for his family than got a push he may or may not have received, since unlike Roode, Storm wasn't being looked at as too much and his main supporter was the recently departed Billy Gun.

He was told he could always go back to WWE, and in the time between his NXT debut and popping back up on TNA, the writers/agents who were pushing for him (especially Billy Gunn) were all let go. Now that it's less crowded, the NXT landscape looks like he can make more of an impression than had he stayed longterm in 2016.

They just cut the people who work for them.
