Honestly if it does passes, I simply see it being a BIG BIG strike to the US economic power.
Make no mistake, Internet holds power, which is why they want that Law to pass and have the power. But they think the US controls it.
We will see countries like Canada, UK maybe even Japan take over the big internet hosting sites.
The new popular sites will probably come from those countries. And the ones that do get popular will see a big boom.
Hell, goodbye pornhub and other sites. You can be sure some other country will have something else to replace it.
It will suck immensily for the US. But eventually other countries will be able to access the same kind of content

What's going to happen to Multiplayer video games like Call of Duty if Net Neutrality is repealed? Back to having to bring friends over to play slit screen multiplayer? Will it also mean game companies will have to make physical expansion packs for games?

Will it also mean game companies will have to make physical expansion packs for games? Most likely the big ones will make deals to have paid services. You pay 10 extra? You can access Call of Duty,Overwatch, etc etc! Smaller ones I have no idea, maybe buy a service from the companies

Probably nothing changes when it comes to console games as I imagine Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo will make deals as far as their gaming networks go. Probably the same goes for the big PC games and distribution platforms like Steam, though you might see more companies relocate their data centers to Canada if it becomes too much of a hassle.

Move over, Martin Shkreli. You're probably not the most hated man in America if the vote passes.

Here in Portugal Mobile data is like 10gb a month for 10€ , you can use those 10gb for everything BUT you can also pay , say 5€ for 5gb JUST for youtube, or 5€/5gb for Spotify, or 5€/5gb for Netflix, etc etc
When you get one of those 5€ plans, that app traffic doesnt count towards the base plan of 10gb.
Most people dont complain because social media apps traffic is free on most plans but the issue is real

Can I laugh at the people who were all for Net Neutrality just 3 years ago and now against it? (you can probably guess the reason why they changed their minds.)

I won’t get all socio-economic. But I will say that I view the web the way I view electricity: in this day and age, you can’t try to treat it the way you would oranges. Those kind of rules just don’t apply. It has honestly become the lifeblood of our economy and our means of communication, and hence it requires special rules to be applied to it. And the idea of just sitting back and waiting for someone to come up with a better alternative in the meantime simply isn’t realistic.

Wasn't very clear, the way I interpreted means you are saying they are doing the right thing?

if this goes, it could be the death of many indi musicians. would be very difficult to get funds to put up releases and youtube videos, and do a bunch of promo that we have to do.

You can't try and close an alligator's mouth without losing a finger.
If this does happen expect 2018 to be even more choatic and politicized than 2017.

But with something this important faith won’t count for much.

We will see countries like Canada, UK maybe even Japan take over the big internet hosting sites. FAN will become a Japanese site. And immediately become more popular with Dave Meltzer.

"Uhhh, uhh, you know, I liked the Sweatsock thread, I thought it was a great thread. But, it just stopped going and that's what stopped it from being amazing. Anyway, Conor, I just dunno what he's doing out there."

If the internet dies, hopefully I might be able to buy a video game with all the content already in the game.

The only positive to me is that some websites that are pushing for this to come to pass will find themselves killed for it because they are competitors to websites owned by ISPs (and offend those corporations’ international customers). Those websites will get slowed to a crawl by the ISPs to a ridiculous degree.
