And that former head of the FCC had to sorta be strongarmed into implementing Net Neutrality protections as he wasn't on board at first. Just that he was more open to listening to people than this guy who claims all the pro-NN sentiment is from DDOS attacks and bots. Meanwhile, not a peep out of that douchebag's mouth about Comcast and their ilk using peoples' names without their consent (including using dead people) to lobby against Net Neutrality.

If the vote passes in what Pai wants, dude might need to legally change his name and get himself out of the U.S., because this is beyond poking the hornet's nest. It's trying to set it on fire with a flamethrower.

The former head of the FCC (who instituted the NN regulations that are getting revoked) also worked for Verizon before going to the FCC. That's how regulatory organizations work. Yeah, kind of hard to get qualified people without some industry association You just have to hope they aren't horrible people and do their job in good faith, rather than just cooperate in regulatory capture. Yep, and if they're nice to the companies during their term, they tend to get ridiculously high paying jobs with one of them after.

And net neutrality is over.
Once again, Republicans choose Party over Nation.

And net neutrality is over. Once again, Republicans choose Party over Nation. I guess this means the following: People having to bring friends over just to play a multiplayer game (Albeit a split screen multiplayer) The WWE anthology DVD sets (complete with blurred scratch logos and muted WWF's) going up in price big time More game delays and people being left with buggy games

If you're angry about this, and you didn't vote, next time vote.
That's all I'll say, before I start violating some rules.

At least we know what date to put on the paper calendar to remember when the free internet died.

The vote doesn’t mean that it’s over.
The next thing that has to happen is that it has to be take. To court, which from past records has been rejected twice before.

All I will say is that it is absolutely astounding to me that an institution just overruled the opinions of over 80% of the American People.

The major civil rights charities are saying they’ll fight it and at least two politicians are authoring a reversal bill of the vote so like you said it sucks it got here but the best thing to do is keep the pressure on politicians.

This just sums up my feelings about all of this...they knew an overwhelming majority of us didn't want this and they pretty much said "F*** y'all" and did it anyway....it's depressing.

This battle may be lost, but the war is far from over. Keep the pressure on to your representatives in Congress and don't give up.
Next year is the midterm elections and the people need to keep net neutrality a major issue.

Cool, I look forward to paying even more and having more restrictions on the same unstable Internet service which not only has a data cap, but is the only "high-speed" provider in the area.

Yes, I just read the same thing on Facebook. Considering the pattern it's most likely to be denied again hopefully. I understand we're not allowed to discuss politics on here. But I have an honest question and I hope it doesn't get me reprimanded. But considering where we are at this point and time. Is it possible they're trying to create a dictatorship? Especially with them attempting to control and censor information.

The days of buying mixtapes from the homie with that beatdown hooptie are returning. We won't have the data anymore. Damn.
Shit's crazy. Just, wild.
