Wonder what this means for the Suicide gimmick? That one could open up a nice can of worms. I can imagine it has some sort of exclusion from this deal, since it was a TNA-created character first before anyone had the gimmick. This news post doesn't seem to mention anyone who worked for Impact in the past, though I would imagine the Hardys now have undisputed rights to the Broken gimmick, be it as a result of this decision or not, as evidenced by Matt finally awakening on Raw this week. Whether or not it goes back to when Suicide was a featured character or not does not seem to be clear, and I can't imagine Kazarian, Daniels, or TJP ever needing the gimmick.

This ain't altruistic, this is desperation.
Nordholm wants to attract Indy talent to his canadian dollar store promotion and this is the only way he can think off.
This will also open a f***ing gigantic can of worms, since everyone who ever worked in tna now owns their IP they did in tna, then what's gonna stop them from asking a cut regarding the global force network?
Well in case anyone wants to sue tna, he warned they're broke, you won't be getting shit. Ask Eric Bischoff, tna just stop answering the motions sent by Eric's lawyer. They also changed their address several times so that the State of Tennessee and their other debtors can't find them.

Played by a 400 pound man and Suicide will become the new Doink of the indies. Honest answer some said to attract more top indies guys which at this point with as small of a TV deal they have now is it worth it for them? I think it more not wanting to go into a legal battle and spend all that money on court fees and ext.

Feels less like a gift, more like they realised they didn't have much of a legal leg to stand on.

Ah yes, the "We know we can't win or even afford legal fees so hey we're cool again please be our friends" plan. Solid.

I think it more not wanting to go into a legal battle and spend all that money on court fees and ext. I'm sure they want to avoid the court battle too, but nobody who's doing really well for themselves on the indies is going to want to sign over their gimmick to Ed Nordholm. The reality of what they're looking at right now is not having their major names be exclusive, but be people they've courted in to work some tapings, and contracts will probably deal more with commitments to be at the tapings than not. To get the people they want and to court the names they hope can sell tickets or bring in some ratings, they need to get names, but TNA's terms are repulsive to the higher rung of names. You mention the small TV deal, and that's exactly where this falls; TNA is looking to slide down and become just another indie, complete with pulling some bigger names in to sell a show worked mostly by the in-house dudes.

So does this mean the Hardy's officially have the Broken Gimmick back and that tease on RAW is a true sign that it's gonna happen without an issue?
If so... WONDERFUL!

Well, in theory, that's the case. Matt's putting out the trademark mid December and if nobody opposes in 30 days after, he gets full ownership. It doesn't LOOK like they'll oppose it because of these new changes and the lack of funds rapidly becoming available but that doesn't mean they WON'T. But also if they DO oppose it, that puts this whole thing into disrepute, it'll make people think they don't ACTUALLY have control of their gimmicks and they get bad PR for essentially being liars. Which, as we all know, is something TNA isn't.

I have to add too...I'm pretty sure considering the origin of the gimmick that they'd actually own the Suicide gimmick in the same way WWE owns Doink and just hands it to Steve Lombardi when he's found outside looking for extra work.
Because that'd mean The Addiction would become The Suicide Brothers...which kind of would be amazing.

Now I want Alabama TNA, with 400 guys in every gimmick.
Alabama Gail Kim still won't put anybody over though.
Conrad and Tony on commentary.

I would seriously laugh my ass off if Caleb Konley bolted from the company and somehow managed to take the Suicide gimmick with him.

The only reason they WOULDN'T do that is because the next big indy name that could come along that they want might go "Oh, so if I do something successful in your company, you might actually screw me over. Well cool, I'll just take this offer Lucha Underground/NXT/NJPW have for me and you enjoy life". Even with TNA's own history...they pretty much need talent to come for smaller stints more than the talent needs them. Because even going to Smash or Glory Pro around the corner would do more for their careers outside of neither of them having TV.
