As a southern white boy Im suppossed to be a lot of things I'm not. Living in a trailer park I'm suppossed to be alot of things I'm not. Being working class period I'm suppossed to be a lot of things I'm not. I'm not racist, I'm not inbred. I'm not conservative, I dont hate gays. I care about the world around me and the people in it. Well in the same respect as a Californian: I'm not a Democrat but a liberal Rebulican. I'm not nor have ever been on the "pot" nor any other drugs (not slamming those who do). Pretty much look like a goth but am more like a 80s Punk (everybody says it I know, but I don't TRY to be I just am). And despite my pessimistic outlook, I'm a really positive guy. I'm from Nor Cal, but I'm not a farmer either (that maybe just a California joke). And for all smarkhood, I mark for Tatanka, Hurricane, "Pirate" Burchill, and Jake Roberts.

I think it depends of the person, some people become very un-motivated while others can maintain normal exsistence. It's when it interferes with your responsibilities, whatever they may be, that it becomes a problem.
Regardless there are draw backs, and stupidness or forgetfulness are routine.
the most intelligent people I know are non-smokers, and/or non-drinkers.
And don't give me the you play better when your high crap. It destroys your sense of time.
Other than that smoke on.

Eat candy.

I am a semi-popular geek. AND I am friends with lots of jocks. I was that way in high school..I loved that role..I think most stereotypes are broken now, with a few..Like the all stoners are bums idea..Can't speak first hand as I've never tried pot but I knew pot heads who were smarter than I was at the time.

youtube.com/watch?v=saJZJOYzrwUApparently, you all need a lesson in the evils of marijuana. Edit: On topic, in school I was nicknamed "The Slacker Valedictorian." Figure that out. Just because I didn't kiss up to teachers or always pay attention everyone assumed I was lazy.

Don't get me wrong, I love sittin around gettin high and watching tv, but if I'm doin' it while I should be at work, then we got a problem.
And for the young out there, not all drugs are the same. Get the facts before you kill yourself or wasted your life by 20. JUST SAY KNOW!

Stoners are generally nice people even if I would never do pot. They have a who gives a shit attitude but usually they know when to not joke around if something really serious happens. I wouldn't say they are uber smart but usually they know alot of stuff that can range from being extremely good at math to knowing the lyrics to every tv show theme song ever.

It's the person mostly. It's who the person is, who they hang out with, and so forth.
I mean, take Raven for example. He has to be one of the smartest men alive, and he's likely done every drug under the son.
With most stereotypes, there is always a ring of truth to it, because there probably are some dumb people who smoke weed, but they are the focus to get people to not smoke it. It's society really. Society sucks ass.
I also tried weed twice, one time when I was drunk out of my mind, and another with two friends who were regular smokers. One of my friends was actually driving while stoned, and he wasn't driving too badly at all I noticed. I didn't like it though, it f***s up my throat.

I'm of Mexican descent, but English was always my best subject. In fact, I can't even speak Spanish.
Yet I've been called 'stupid beaner' before.

I used to smoke pot, and I am living proof that the stereo type is bull, I have an IQ of 204, my best friend in high school was a bit of a giggleing stoner idiot but anything I didn't know he did, and most stoners I've met were either "book smart" like me, or "street smart" like my friend

Some more broken stereotypes...
I'm 100% Arabic, but both my parents speak fluent English and it's the main language spoken in my home.
Also, going along with the local stereotypes, I'm a 21 year old Arabic man who doesn't act gangsta, deal drugs, or listen to predominantly rap music.

My girlfriend's ex-roomate and ex-roomate circle of friends pretty much confirm the burnout stoner image. They try and sound smart and really believe what they say, and to anyone who knows anything baout what they're trying to say, they are dumb as a box of rocks.

That reminds me of times other mexicans would assume I don't speak spanish just because I speak english with no accent and use english words they don't understand.

I have no hint of Spanish accent in my voice, and I think people (not here in San Antonio, but in other, mostly-white cities) expect me to sound like Speedy Gonzalez.
