What is D'Amore's pedigree, exactly? Isn't he just one of Jarrett's toadies? Promoter of Border City Wrestling since 1993 and runs his own construction business as well as being head of creative during the "good" years.

I like their sentiments, I like where they want to take this, but truthfully, it's too little, too late. They know the right things to say, but the coffers are empty, the talent pool has been polluted, and there's very little that either man can do that can right this. Anthem is trying to convey stuff that they should have done from the beginning, now that they know they're in way in over their heads. They have less going for them than ROH does, they have less eyes on them with wrestling fans than NJPW does. About all they can do is try to star build, but their most promising talent is fed to "big" names in order to get them over. If Don and Scott can pull this off, quite frankly, I'll be amazed. Don is okay, but I love Scott and how he does business. But without the resources and name talent, it's as uphill as uphill gets. And it's still TNA, it frankly still needs to die. This sums everything up. But I will say for once in a long long time, I might actually root for them.

Is it weird that I'm interested in TNA for the first time since 2014 because of this news? I listened to D'Amore and Callis on Jericho's podcast and I think their vision is far more likely to result in a watchable product than the last several years of Bischoff/Russo/Dixie/Jarrett/Pritchard/whoever nonsense. I'll be following closely to see what their first few months bring.

Yeah, those two seem like the sort of minds TNA needed, well, years ago. Callis alone feels like the most realistic business person TNA's ever seen. I'm hopeful, cautiously hopeful but hopeful regardless. At this point it feels like they've started treatment after the cancer has already become terminal. This company has been in a death dive for years now, to the point where it's hard to imagine how they are going to pull themselves out of it. If Scott and Don manage to somehow save the company, I'd say it would be the biggest miracle in the business.

Sure, I’m not saying they WILL get out of it but they’re saying much better and realistic things than even Ed was a couple of months ago.

I am not expecting a miracle, though for the sake of the employees, hopefully they'll slow the descent to give time for people to get off safely, instead of being dragged down with it.

Well, if you're gonna be a Canadian Shindie, might as well get a couple of Canadians to run the thing.
