I can't wait to see Mosasaur chomping down on surfers.

It looks like a generic action/adventure flick, but I'm glad they are embracing the silliness. 2 and 3 just rehashed the same thing.

That's better than the first trailer they released.
And, Fallen Kingdom is definitely referring to the Kingdom of Man.

Looks cool. I like that new dinosaur. I hope he can talk like that raptor in "The Critic"

I'm getting a last 25 minutes of JP2 Lost World vibe here, and I'm not disappointed. It seems like a lot of idiocy that shouldn't be is happening here (characters doing quite dumb things that will BLOW UP IN HUMANITY'S FACES) and I like that -- and that's on top of the general idiocy of "making dinosaurs and not thinking there will be problems with that" that's existed with the original premise.

I have not been hype for this at all and I f***ing loved JW that last trailer got me hype.
(Tho I do think my lack of hype is mostly due to Infinity War taking it all)

Saw it last night. It's a dumb movie but is entertaining enough (with one 'right in the feels' sequence midway through the film).
I can't wrap my head around a plot hole that deals with chronology, but I'll wait for other people to see the film to discuss it... I don't want to spoil things.

It was pretty lame. If you've watched the trailers, you've seen the movie. It's very by the numbers, long stretches of "You do plan on having dinosaurs in your dinosaur movie, yes?" with generic characters filling time. Very bland is how I'd describe it, with a few very big negatives:
-The nerd hero is actively annoying. Like Jar Jar Binks annoying. -The score is flat-out awful. -The post-credits scene is truly a waste of sitting through the credits.

I liked it. The movie was two parts and was pretty much action all the way through. The leads felt a little more rounded out this time. There was some improvements over the last film, yet also at times it felt like Solo where I’m enjoying this movie, but is this a story that really needs to be told?
But if you want turn your brain and watch some dinos wreck shit.
This is the movie for you.

Saw it last night. It's a dumb movie but is entertaining enough (with one 'right in the feels' sequence midway through the film). {Spoiler}{Spoiler}That Brachiosaurus, man. I enjoyed it. Rexy and Blue are still awesome. Rexy's still the star of the series, but Blue is right on her tail, as is the Mosasaur. Rexy is 80s Hogan, Blue is 98 Austin, and Mosasaur is 2000 Rock. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Can we get this team of film makers to make a Resident Evil movie? Because that last third or so of the movie, was a better Resident Evil movie than any of the live action Resident Evils. Mansion in the forest, a secret lab underneath, and the Indo getting loose and stalking the heroes? They stuck closer to the RE games than the movies did.

I saw it about two weeks ago. It’s mindless entertainment but still a fun summer movie. I thought the last one was better.

Significant plot point, here, so don't read unless you've seen the film: {Spoiler}{Spoiler} {Spoiler}{Spoiler} So if Lockheed or whatever his name was was partnered with Hammond but split as a result of Lockheed's decision to clone his daughter...thus explaining why we don't see Lockheed in Jurassic Park with Hammond in 1993... 25 years ago... why is his cloned daughter about 8 years old? /spoiler

Maybe there was a Venture Bros. sort of thing going on?
I was also confused how he suggested that his daughter had gone to the original JP once.

So I liked it, but it’s VERY silly.
The first 15 minutes play with some of the deeper ideas of Jurassic Park, but after that it’s explosions, dinosaurs crashing into things and people getting gobbled. It’s a “turn off your brain” popcorn film in every sense. The nerdy kid is a little annoying but I’ve seen worse sidekicks.

I really, really hated this movie. It started off okay, but by the end, it felt like a Sharknado movie if it took itself REALLY seriously. I don't mind a big, dumb movie if it's fun to watch. I didn't find anything fun about this movie outside of the initial beginning on the island. I didn't like Jurassic World either, but it at least has this beat in the sense that it's not completely stupid. I hated every single character in this movie. I will say, while I'm not a fan of Chris Pratt, but you have to hand it to the man for making a killing by being able to play the same character in every movie he's in.
I think I would put this at the bottom of my list when ranking these movies. JP III is terrible, but it at least has Sam Neill and is only 90 minutes. This felt like it went on for around four hours. I can understand why people would like it (I think?), but I just thought it was a boring, REALLY stupid mess. There's no way they'll do it, but I pray they just let this franchise die. The first movie (to me) is perfect and is somewhat soiled by all of these terrible sequels.

I actually liked Fallen Kingdom much more than the first Jurassic World, which I felt was dull, cheap-looking, and oddly mean-spirited. Franklin was a bit annoying but was still a significant step up from the kids in the first one, and I thought fleshing out the relationship between Owen and Blue gave the film some decent emotional heft (or at least as much emotional heft as one can get from a silly summer blockbuster).

question for anyone who saw the film. Does it play the classic John Williams score at any point in the movie?

I liked how Blue was given a stronger push. We saw more about the connection she had with Owen, and was able to hold her own in a match against a bigger dinosaur like the Indoraptor. Instead of hosses like the t-rex and Spinosaur getting the spot on top, Blue got the good booking. She's paid her dues.
