Not good for TNA to have to resort to airing indie footage, but I felt so happy for DEFY that they aired some footage from one of their shows. It was just a clipped Sami Callihan match, but to have such a new indie get national TV exposure (even if it is Impact on Pop) is kind of cool.

Odds they didn't have full permission and it'll bite them in the ass somehow?

Sami is bad enough, but that dude that he was against was flat out wack.

It'd be cheaper to watch the footage on the Fight Network app for three months than go to one of their shows. Seriously: $25 for DEFY tickets in Tacoma, WA is insane.

Going to tacoma is insane Hell, I live in Tacoma. We're dying for some good wrestling that's affordable to go to. We haven't had any in years.

The cards Defy has for their numbered shows look good, IMO. $25 doesn't seem too bad as I was paying 37 for WrestleCircus, plus 40 in gas and a 4 hour drive.

Let's be honest, this and showing the matches from years ago is just trying to fill Impact time until the next set of tapings. I suggest they add in past copyright cartoons and shorts from the 30s and 40s as an additional way to save revenue.

Was gonna say, $25 doesn’t sound unreasonable to me, especially in a city as expensive as Tacoma.

I think that could draw in some ratings.

Oh it definitely is, but if a quality indie can profit from Impact needing time filler I’m all for it. Less than a year ago no one had ever heard of DEFY. This was because they had not put on a single show. Now they’ve already been on national TV. Even if it was a clipped match on the show of a dying promotion, I think it’s pretty cool.

If end of days TNA were seen by any kind of sizable audience willing to spend money on wrestling this might be a better pull for DEFY, but if they can't even get their fans to spend money on their own product, I doubt it's going to be that big a profile bump. Like good for DEFY, but this won't move the needle much.

At this point, Impact would be better off just selling their air time to various indies who want to be on TV.
