That side view helps somewhat, but her face just really looks boyish to me. Now again, if she is a bit of a tomboy, I have no issue. In She-Ra form she looks like a dude in drag

Wonder if her action figure will have the same design (there is going to be an accompanying toy line right?).

A couple more images Honestly, she looks fine. She looks like a teenager. Andora looks like she's about to hop in a Gundam

Apparently this series will include characters who never made the 1985-87 tv show, so it's got that going for it.

I think there are two main issues that are causing the division with the design here. One is that a lot of people still subconsciously treat male characters as the default, and if you don't make the secondary sex characteristics that are given to female characters as a matter of course, people revert to that way of thinking. (Same reason a lot of people think of anime characters as white, because they don't have the traditional markers of being Asian in most western media.)
The other issue is of course that it's a female character not catering to the male gaze, so the 4Channers/Gamergaters/Comicsgaters/general misogynists are going to get pissy and obnoxious everywhere because it's all they know how to do.

She looks fine to me. I feel like with the design they were trying for something that was a female power fantasy while still being somewhat feminine. To women who see this: does this design accomplish that goal? Genuinely curious for some feminine perspectives on this.
Though that side profile view of her made her helm's wings look like she was a Warcraft high elf at first.

It looks like Voltron: Legendary Defender, like I said (DreamWorks has the MOTU Universe too, no?) And Catra is hanging out with Adora? Hmmmmmmm…
Yes it's intertwined with the He-Man universe, but it's not as glaring as having a Venom movie without Spider-Man.

“THEY CHANGED THE SKIN COLOUR AND AGE OF A CHARACTER BARELY ANYONE REMEMBERS IN THE WIDER SHE-RA MYTHOS?! HOW DARE THEY?!” Just getting that out so nobody else has to say it. I personally don't care about the changes either way, but Bow is hardly a character barely anyone remembers. Aside from Hordak, he's the lead male character from the She-Ra mythology. This. Plus, it's not like Mattel has erased one version of one character for another. Zodac/Zodak are now two different people.

From reading negative comments about these images, it's hard to tell whether actual children or middle-aged adults are complaining about this reboot? It's "Trukk not Munky" all over again!

for me looks fine, but I never was involved in any way with She-Ra. That side shot with the air flowing looks pretty amazing. Just not a fan of the art style,it is that blandy samey with bad coloring between all characters (except the cat girl, she looks great ) It bothers me how they shadow these shots, especially on the face,it distracts way too much.

I have no emotional connection to the original cartoon, so...looks fine. I like the bike shorts, actually, with the gold stripe.
Don't have any particular feelings about it, best wishes to them of course. I feel much better about it than the Thundercats revamp.

One thing I have to wonder this time around is if her sword will actually be used as a sword or not.
From what little I remember of the original show, her sword was really only used for transforming into She-Ra, a boomerang to cut things from a distance, or an item that could transform (I remember she turned it into a lasso one time).

It was used as a sword to cut into things but not as...well, a sword to attack people with. Like if you used a sword to cut ham, that's what She-Ra did. Now I want an episode where Adora uses the sword to make a sandwich.

It's the heavy eyebrows. Cannot unsee. As a big MOTU fan, I personally preferred the artstyle of the 2002 He-Man remake that we WERE going to see Adora and Hordak in had it not been cancelled, but I've been hungry for a She-Ra series forever so I'll give this a shot. Not really feeling Glimmer's "reimagined" look, but Catra looks faithful to the original. Bow obviously got a "diversity" update, but he does look more interesting - I never, EVER liked the Chippendale Dancer Robin Hood look of the original character, even as a kid. The action's going to be what sells me on it. If the fights are good, I'll keep tuning in. If they're just "my energy beam move beats your energy beam move", ehh...

Those models look better in motion. That's why the art team went with the simpler look, to help the characters visually flow better.
