Yeah this is pretty damn good and I really like how they handle the relationship between Adora & Catra and Bow & Glimmer.

After the Voltron reboot turned out to be fantastic beyond words, I have nothing but high hopes for this. Looks like your hope was well placed, me from 2 months ago! It was a really good first season. Watched the whole thing about a month ago when it came out. DreamWorks did it again with another fun series. Although it's gonna be tough to top Voltron: Legendary Defender. Especially with that series finale....... Still a little emotional after watching it....

Just finished the season since I had nothing else going on today and... Yeah, I'm into it and am very much looking forward to season two, it's a great show. Although I am kind of split on one point (whole season spoilers here). {Spoiler}I'm torn between wanting them to go right on ahead with an eventual Catra face turn, since I really find her and Adora's relationship by far the most interesting part of the show and while it's funny throughout I think the humor is at its best between the two of them, and kind of wanting them to move away from the Avatar road map because... Yeah, so far everything is in place for this to have the exact same plot structure as Avatar. The finale's basically the equivalent of killing the moon then having it brought back, the fight parallels that at the Northern Water Tribe, they basically set up Ozai's Angels as the next seasons villains, and the logical conclusion to that would be directly going after Hordak in season three. It's all very safely structured at the moment is my point.
Related to that feels like it's all but a necessity for Catra to eventually turn out to be some kind of princess in her own right, since Adora having to unite all of the princesses means Scorpia and Entrapta have to turn at some point thus she probably would as well, plus she's going to need some kind of power boost to be any sort of viable threat as the new second in command.

Finished season 1, and I hope season 2 will be coming soon.
After the finale, noticed my bottom lip hurt, as I had bit it during all the tense shit happening.
Without spoiling anything, if there are any face turns coming next season, they're going to have to walk some stuff back HARD, going by how few f***s the villains gave about what they were doing. Lines were absolutely crossed.

Lines were absolutely crossed. I'm going to disagree on that one honestly, and go back to the Avatar comparison to explain why. {Spoiler}Like yeah, Catra and Scorpia do some pretty terrible things in the name of the Horde but really the village at the start is the only time that they really even imply that there might be casualties from it as opposed to just property destruction and Catra continues to be framed in a sympathetic light well after that.
Going to the Avatar comparison, no one really seems to object to them subsequently turning Mai and Ty Lee face and they had a lot less reason to do so, a lot less justification for the horrible things they were doing, and more than likely a much higher bodycount. Plus the two of them never once actually show any sort of regret for what they've done, they're basically just good entirely because they decided being on Azula's side had become inconvenient for them.
I do definitely think you'd need to do some doing and put Catra through the ringer to turn her at this point, but I don't think she's really crossed any lines that can't be recovered from.
Granted I suppose there's also the fallout from Promise and how dragging up their past made Catra more bitter, but even then she was shown having regrets at the end plus to me at least that kind of felt like the place was deliberately trying to break up their friendship and manipulating the situation, with how much the next episode was pushing the Adora-has-to-give-up-on-her-friends point.

I am mostly talking about {Spoiler}Entrapta just kind of leaping directly into "extinction-level event" for the sake of science, with zero remorse for what she knew she was doing. As for Catra, she's known since day one what she was doing was evil, and pointed out that, no shit, she knew what Shadow Weaver and Hordak were up to. She just wants to run the show someday, and wanted Adora to be part that, until she decided she really just wants Adora dead at this point.
Ty Lee and Mai did a lot of bad shit, but it'd be like if someone said Ozai was going to destroy the world, and their response was akin to "lol". It's not impossible to face turn any of the three, or other Horde, but it'll take some rehab after those last few episodes.

Series finale? So V:LD is done? Aye, but it had a good ending. An emotional one, but a good one.

I look forward to it a lot, will be interesting to see what the fallout from it all will be. I feel like Shadoweaver is probably going to undermine Catra and get some measure of revenge on her.

So I've only seen the first two episodes of this show, have any of the "monster" villains from the Horde (Leech, Mantenna, Grizzlor, Modulok) shown up yet? I'd like to see them reimagined, especially if they had personalities beyond "dumb muscle".

So far, it's a good show.
Although I was NOT a fan of episode 5.

Preview doesn't really tell us much but I'm hype for it. They definitely need to be adding some more Horde members sooner rather than later though, on paper they're super outmatched and really if you're having to have Kyle in there to make the sides look even that kind of just makes the problem worse. Granted, don't misunderstand me, I do want this season to have a lot more Kyle. It's just... Y'know, he's pathetic. So far, it's a good show. Although I was NOT a fan of episode 5. I'm up and down on it. It's kind of a bleh episode, but I don't mind it since it at least introduces Mermista and Seahawk and I think both of them are pretty funny.

The only significant returning villains so far are Catra and Shadow Weaver, who were exclusive creations of Filmation for the original cartoon. Maybe they're focusing more on establishing the more She-Ra centric folks first before bringing in the folks who are also identified as He-Man foes. Hordak was in there too someplace, with a voice that does NOT match the character, but not very much IIRC.

The series is tied up in rights issues due to the movie in the works. If nothing else I know they can't use He-Man himself.
