I find it weird that the game never got a sequel with Gen 2 or 3 as it was very popular and sold well as did most Pokemon stuff back in the day
Also helped it was a decent game to kill time with

Falls in that weird spot where it's a lot of fun but it does have a ton of obvious issues. I'd be completely down for a sequel if they ever opted to do one.... provided it didn't come out like the take on it in Gen 7 because that's just a boring barely-interactive mess.
It drives me nuts that the game has 63 Pokemon in it. Why did they cut Ekans?

For some reason a lot of Pokemon didn't make the cut.
That 98-00 period was a crazy time for Pokemon

Yeah, this was one of those games I always played at Blockbuster, which was interesting seeing Pokemon on the N64 at the time, but it just wasn't as fun as catching them.
I did buy it and get 100% on it, however I was always confused why you don't get to take pictures of all 151.

When I found an N64 at a thrift store a few years back, this was one of the games that bewildered my wife when I insisted on buying it. I explained it to her then that it was a game that was actually pretty relaxing to play, and I stand by that. It's a good way to kill some time without getting too overly worked up.
Until you become obsessed with getting THE PERFECT SHOT and restart entire courses because you were off by an inch at the end.

I'm 99% sure it'll get a sequel on Switch. I have no evidence of that except it seems like a Nintendo move to wait a couple of console generations before doing a sequel to a cult favourite game.
Like, we didn't get a new Kid Icarus until the 3DS and before then, the last proper game (and not a port) was for the NES. It takes one ridiculous pitch and it feels like it being a handheld would help with that for some reason.

Pokemon Snap's setup would have fit the two screen thing way better than Star Fox 0.

This can be a negative and a positive. Like, did anyone genuinely expect Bayonetta 3? Hell, did anyone expect Bayonetta TWO?!

This is one I wouldn't mind seeing Nintendo try again with. There's a ton of interesting ideas but, every time I play it, I feel like there's a lot more they could have added.

Honestly, yeah, I completely expected Bayonetta 3. 2 really didn't do too badly for what it was on and her being in Smash Bros. boosted the resale value of the thing so much they had to do a re-release of it. Though admittedly anyone else probably would've waited to see how the Switch port of 1 and 2 did before committing to 3.
