I just want to throw out an idea I've often thought that causes a lot of NXT to WWE issues:
The WWE has strong inconsistency with characters transferring from NXT to the main roster. It's like one week the WWE says "Look, it's BLAHBLAH from NXT" and they have 100% the same character and look. Then two weeks later with a different wrestler it's "Hey look it's WHATSHERFACE from NXT" but their character has significant difference, but looks "similar". So what we expect doesn't match at all what we see and get. And sometimes the person from NXT is just straight up treated like a 100% newcomer with zero connections to their past.
I honestly believe there is real confusion with crowds on if NXT characters crossover straight to WWE or if it the main roster debut is "a clean slate".
Shit I'm a hard core fan and I can't even figure it out. I can't even describe the phenomenon without confusing myself and rambling like Booker T.

I'm not worried. She still has that innate likability, she'll be alright.

I am very, very sympathetic towards the person who plays Bayley, because she ALWAYS has to be humble and optimistic and positive and good. Anyone else can say "It didn't go well, but I don't think it was my fault," but she has to stay in character.

Sometimes I think WWE wrestlers get Stockholm Syndrome.

Sure, smarks are the easiest people to please, that's why this board is so full of positivity threads about Roman and the general state of Raw every week. Yet were all still watching. If you wanna please smarks just two workrate indie guys and they'll chant "this is awesome" till they blow out their ass. Finding someone with mainstream appeal like hogan, cena, the rock is much harder Is that why NXT got so much less popular with the internet crowd since going full workrate indies?Because it is how you please then? I stopped watching NXT and the main shows, but for the opposite reasons.

Also NXT was more popular with smarks when they had Neville, Zayn, Balor and Joe in the main event all top inde guys capable of putting on a great match. For a while they tried making Drew the face of the company who cant draw outside of scotland and is hardly on the same level in ring wise as the people I just mentioned. Who do you think is still watching NXT? its the smarks. My main point is its a lot harder to draw marks then smarks. Im finished posting in this thread because this is heavily de railed now

Bayley's momentum was slowly dwindling the longer they had her on the main roster but she kept a certain level of overness the entire time...until that Alexa Bliss feud. She never recovered from that. Fact is this just isn't a Bayley only thing, it happens with all NXT talent. Nakamura is another example. He was paired with Ziggler which severely hurt his stock and then Mahal finished dude off. Only a matter of time until Asuka drops off too.
This company needs to manage these stars better because it's clockwork these days.

I just want to hug her and tell her that everything's going to be OK... but the influx of women in the roster isn't helping her case if changes aren't made. If she's struggling now, she'll be lost in the shuffle once others find their footing in the main show.

Not her fault. Booked like shit. Exactly. The WWE are terrible at pretty much everything.

Not her fault. Booked like shit. But unfortunately for her, she's the dictionary definition of "a mark that made good", she'll swallow the nonsense hook, line and sinker, and buy that it's her fault that she was "less over than she thought", when the reality is that they booked her into the ground off the launch pad.

I still don't get how they went from her being a happy, positive face to them acting like she was full-on child-like. The former people will root for, the latter not so much.

A thought to add to this: I think WWE wants to build nearly everyone as the same level so that's why they have back and forth debut main roster matches. Asuka, Nak and Gallows/Anderson had back and forth matches with established talent instead of showcases. Why? That's the question, why take the uniqueness of these wrestlers? They need to really fix their booking and narrative issues.

You can't let that nxt crowd get to your ego. They chant over the top because full sail actually believe their part of the show. As opposed to RAW/SD Live crowds where they're ghostly silent 98% of the time?

Not with any kind of regularity anymore (and I've been watching pretty much weekly my entire life.) Not to mention the ratings are in the toilet across the board so yeah... talk about people will complain and still tune in all you want... the numbers are proving that people are tuning out.

The majority of people can get behind happy innocent characters. They won't cheer for an adult acting like a literal child.

They will boil down a character to it's absolute base "elevator pitch stereotype" quality, then put a microscope lens with a bright white spotlight over that so that's all anyone can see.

On one front though... they don't do subtlety because it seems whenever they do no one seems to get it.
