WWE signs way too many people. WWE has no ideas for 90% of the people they sign. WWE just signs people so others can't have them. Less sinsterly, the roster is just too bloated.
All of these statements are common and all of them have some degree of truth. But what are the numbers? How many people do WWE sign per year? How many people are let go? That's what this thread intends to track. To a lesser extent, this thread can also be used as a discussion of how well new signees are booked. Or not.
This has the potential to be a big year. On one hand, WWE does not subscribe to the 'fire all jobbers' mentality that frequently pops up online. They have people they need mostly for live events and emergencies or future C-shows. On the other hand, I won't lie... I absolutely dread and suspect that I'll have to report in this thread that this is the year that Primo is finally let go. I also don't see Tamina lasting much longer. Point is, the roster is too bloated. There are too many people that aren't being used well. And it is a problem for the company. Let's see how much worse it will get.
For 2019, as of March 1st, there have been 23 additions to the roster and 3 subtractions to the roster have been reported.
