Such a weird show. Even beyond the three-city deal and the questionable celebrities, the whole thing was just...weird. Hogan and Bundy might have been something had they not been hitting the house show circuit off and on for the previous year, with Hogan going over every time. Ordorff goes from headlining the prior year to opening this one. George Welles foaming at the mouth for no particular reason as Damien crawls over him. The boxing match that wasn't. Kirchner vs. Volkoff getting way more build than it deserved, and being one of the very few matches they actually did any build for. Didn't the flag match only go like 2 minutes too? It's been years and years since I've seen the full show.

First thing I thought of when I saw the thread title was Susan St. James going "Uh oh!".

Hogan vs. Piper in a steel cage should've been the main event of WM2. Mr. T would not have been missed.

George Welles foaming at the mouth for no particular reason as Damien crawls over him. The first time I saw that, I didn't have an appetite for a few days, because I couldn't get the image out of my head. It was gross. I was also about 11 years old. I tried to watch it again....when i was 27, and had my eyes covered, the whole time. That's such an odd show, lol

I have to wonder if Kirchner was set for a push prior to things ending with him. He very much was set for a huge push at first. Kirchner was basically the first of Vince's many "fake Razor and Diesel" deals (Well, I think Samula replacing Tonga Kid replacing Snuka was first, but that's splitting hairs). He had lost Slaughter, his #2 or 3 babyface, and was convinced he could simply replace him and keep going.

The only day of the week a WWE PPV hasn't aired in the US is Friday. Although if you expand the definition of a PPV to include Takeover events, then Friday would be covered.

You know what is forgotten and pretty great? Dory and Terry Funk vs JYD and Tito. I love that match.
Highlight of a dire Mania, Bulldogs and battle royals notwithstanding.

A highlight for me was the battle royal with the NFL players. Refrigerator Perry getting the hometown pop, Bill Fralic being an incredible natural heel, and of course the legendary Russ Francis making it almost to the end.

Anyone Wrestlemania with an Uncle Elmer match can't be all bad.

Wrestlemania 2 is big guilty pleasure for me. Its a bad show for sure, but I love the time period. Yep. Moreso for me because I started watching during the build to it.
