A few years ago one of the members here "mongocane" was working on a book about UWF. We chatted briefly about it in PMs but I'm not sure whatever came of his idea. That's me. You can see the progress I've made over the last seven years here: www.facebook.com/uwfherbabramsbook/There's also a bunch of scans of UWF articles, promo pictures, souvenir programs, etc. Things are starting to come together. Out of random curiosity, what made you decide to devote years of your life to researching the UWF?

Bruiser Brody working for Herb would have been the gift that keeps on giving for the 4 days that it would have lasted. Brody would've either knocked him out after getting tired of dealing with Herb or convince Abrams to pay him a shitload in advance and not even bother to show up. Guys? Brody was already dead for two whole years before Abrams even started the UWF promotion, and was into his 3rd or 4th year as wormfood when Abrams made the announcement he was bringing him in as the booker.

Of course, it’s purely hypothetical.

I think they are both speaking hypothetically. IF Brody had been able to work for Abrams, it would have been insanity.

Out of random curiosity, what made you decide to devote years of your life to researching the UWF? I think it’s the question of “why?” I read all the stories about him. Those stories documented the events, but they never explained why they happened. Also, the challenge of finding his good side fascinated me.

Even if he thought he was a complete mark, he would have been just fine with whatever amount Herb offered him because Herb actually would have paid him. And maybe extra money for wailing on someone in the ring for real? Yeah, Brody would have loved him.

Yeah it's just hypothetical. I think Meltzer said nobody in the UWF press conference told Herb that Brody was already dead.

Oh, I could see him loving it from the "Herb lets me do whatever the f*** I want" standpoint, easily.
