tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/daily-ratings/monday-cable-ratings-dec-25-2017/Hour 1: 2.948 million Hour 2: 2.620 million Hour 3: 2.543 million They've had worse weeks than this recently even without happening to air on Christmas so yeah, pretty good showing. ... Which I'm disappointed to hear, since I was hoping the rating would be a total disaster so that USA wouldn't make them do this shit again next year.

The third hour drop wasn't even that hideous, but then again, maybe everyone dropped out after seeing Cena in the first hour.

It seems like Raw has a core group that is just going to watch every week

These numbers will definitely justify live Raw and SD on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day next year for USA. No question.

It seems like Raw has a core group that is just going to watch every week We say this a lot but the ratings have been trickling down more and more by the years, that being said, surprising turnout. A lot of people might have watched to see if it was a disaster.

I mean wouldn't you watch just out of curiosity to see what a Christmas RAW would look like? I feel like a decent amount of people would, whether a disaster or otherwise. Don't need to go throwing out blanket statements.

It seems like Raw has a core group that is just going to watch every week Imagine a show that has been around forever, but is 3 hours long ever week, has predictable/boring writing, treats their audience like idiots, and is written for the amusement of one 70 year old man. In any other form of entertainment, that show would be cancelled, but the WWE has a loyal fanbase of 2.5-3 million that would watch even if the show were scrambled and you could only listen to the audio. Still amazes me how loyal WWE fans are. In the 90s they put up a bad product and fans were like “don’t give me that shit I ain’t watching”. Now it seems like 2 million people are tied to chairs and can’t change the channel every Monday night.

One is tinged slightly with bias.

I dunno, it's Christmas night... winter in America. Most TV's in America were in all likelyhood being used that night. Probably been surrounded by family that plenty of us were getting annoyed with by the time RAW was on...
This doesn't surprise me that much. I'm actually kinda shocked by the amount of backlash I see about the wrestlers working on Christmas. Are the same people upset at the nasty NBA for having like 6 games that day? Or the gas station down the street being open?

I mean they're not exactly emergency services or Joe Bloggs working a 12 hour shift in an Amazon fulfillment centre.. I don't get the complaint either as it isn't exactly a new thing in WWE to have Christmas day off. Bret Hart had a gripe about working Christmas day almost all the time he was with WWE, writing in his book that the hardest part of his life was packing up and leaving his own kids around Christmas to go to work and entertain someone else's kids. It's part and parcel of the job.

That has nothing to do with Christmas, though.

Zero surprise for me. I’m down on RAW’s product, but the condescension about a business decision that is right in alignment with holiday good times is comeuppance I’ve been waiting for from a thread that previously wouldn’t die. I’m glad to see this just to show that it wasn’t a tank of an idea to go forward. It’s professional wrestling for goodness sake. It would’ve been one of the most UNwrestling things they’ve ever done if they didn’t do this show.
