I'm actually curious, as I've heard over the years, that people wanted this match, so which Wrestlemania was the perfect time?

30. Should have been Cena vs Taker, since they apparently were set on Sting vs Triple H. And then have Ryback be the one to go over Rusev for the US title. Then the very next night make Rusev #1 contender to Reigns for the WHC, and then after they have a match at the next PPV have Rollins cash in his MitB.

33. If it truly was the last match, Cena makes more sense to retire him than Roman. Taker was part of a chain-of-respect retirement story, so he should have been sent out with someone else with legend status. HBK retired Flair, Taker retired HBK, so it was his turn to pass the chain on to another gatekeeper.

I'm going to say 29 because it really changes a few things.
Undertaker vs. Cena at that time both guys were healthy. We didn't need Rock vs. Cena 2, that's a given. CM Punk getting the MAIN EVENT versus The Rock at Wrestlemania writes itself. Punk carries the title, 504 days into Wrestlemania in the main event vs. Rock. Punk finally gets his wish and he's happy and stays.
So we get a kick ass Undertaker vs. Cena match, Punk is happy and motivated heading into 2014, and we still get a stinker in HHH vs. Lesnar, but we can't win them all.

Definitely last year, but if it happens this year I'm fine. I'm just sad that despite Sting saying he feels he can still go, we'll likely never get Taker-Sting.

Someone voted 20, which is interesting.
Cena is still a heel, they rehash the Undertaker feud, except Cena is the one who buries him alive.
Then at Wrestlemania XX we get a peak Cena heel vs. Deadman Undertaker. The dynamic would be so different. Then shortly after Cena turns face. Nice organic way of a turn.

Cena should have won the triple threat at WM24 and Cena/Taker should have been at Mania 25 when they were both undefeated.

32. A lot of people might choke on Cena going over Taker at Mania, and it could set in motion Cena finally snapping and turning heel the next night on Raw, a la Bret Hart, setting in motion a run throughout the summer of him sucking up to the McMahons, and becoming the new corporate champion (likely feuding with Ambrose), since he is in real life, the type of champion Vince wanted in kayfabe during the Austin feud.

If that could led to Corporate Champion John Cena vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 33. That would pack a legit 100,000 since it's in Texas, Austin's last match, and finally Austin vs. Cena. Let Cena be the man to face Austin and Rock from this generation. Of course he jobs to the Stone Cold Stunner.

Hell he got one of the biggest face reactions at MSG that night.

I went with 24, but anywhere in that 22-25 range would've been prime for me. You can say what you want about retiring Taker and gatekeepers (it's a good idea, I agree), but Supercena vs. The Streak would've been awesome. The drama writes itself; people would've found it absolutely plausible they'd end the streak at the hands of Cena during that timeframe, and having an Undertaker that could still go at that time would've made for an excellent match. I'm going to say 29 because it really changes a few things. Undertaker vs. Cena at that time both guys were healthy. We didn't need Rock vs. Cena 2, that's a given. I still think they burned themselves HARD by not doing Punk/Taker for the belt with Punk's title reign against Taker's streak. It was so obvious going in Cena/Rock didn't need the belt, and it's so obvious now that it didn't need the belt. And Punk/Taker was good, with Cena/Rock II IMO not being the full-on disaster many cast it as, but Punk/Rock and Cena/Taker at 29 would've been special.

32. My Lord that show needed something and it be nice to say I saw it live. Cannot believe we got that stinker.

Still absolutely stunned that they went through with Taker vs. Shane, Hell in a Cell. Pretty much up until it happened I was convinced Shane would hire someone to take his place, and Cena was absolutely noticeably absent from Mania. (Yes I know he showed up but barely.)

Being honest it's not a match I've ever had any desire to see, though it definitely should've happened pre-30 because any possible intrigue to it died with the streak.

After losing to the Rock at WM28, Cena goes on a year long journey riddled with self doubt and failure. He ultimately snaps and declares that his only shot at redemption is to end the streak.
This then leaves Rock vs Brock Lesnar, and a still face CM Punk squaring off against Triple H. Or alternatively you have the Best vs the Beast at mania 29 for the title, and have Rock face Triple H. Either option is more compelling than the three matches involving those six that we got. My only gripe would be it would mean not getting the excellent Punk v Taker match, but that could be saved for a later date.

I said this at the time, and I stand by it: The three big matches of 'Mania 27 should've been Cena vs Undertaker as the main event, Miz vs Morrison for the WWE title, and Triple H vs Sheamus.

I was gonna' say either this or 'Mania 32. 32 would've required much less deck reshuffling since you could just slot Cena in for Shane, but the match would've been nowhere near as good as it would have been if it had happened at 27.
