It's that time once again to do an annual tradition here on the FAN as we try to predict what films will get nominated for the Best Picture award at the Oscars. As usual, 20 films (and a spot for others) have been listed in the poll above as many have listed these films as having the best shot at getting a nod. Since the maximum amount of films that can be nominated for the award is 10, you can choose up to 10 yourselves. Last year had a smaller turnout than years prior, but a majority did predict correctly that La La Land and Manchester by the Sea would get nominated, but only a 3rd of the voters correctly predicted the eventual winner Moonlight. What will the results be this time around? Just like last year, here's the IMDB pages for the films listed in case you haven't heard of them. All the Money in the World: www.imdb.com/title/tt5294550/The Big Sick: www.imdb.com/title/tt5462602/Blade Runner 2049: www.imdb.com/title/tt1856101/Call Me by Your Name: www.imdb.com/title/tt5726616/Darkest Hour: www.imdb.com/title/tt4555426/The Disaster Artist: www.imdb.com/title/tt3521126/Dunkirk: www.imdb.com/title/tt5013056/The Florida Project: www.imdb.com/title/tt5649144/Get Out: www.imdb.com/title/tt5052448/The Greatest Showman: www.imdb.com/title/tt1485796/I, Tonya: www.imdb.com/title/tt5580036/Lady Bird: www.imdb.com/title/tt4925292/Molly's Game: www.imdb.com/title/tt4209788/Mudbound: www.imdb.com/title/tt2396589/Phantom Thread: www.imdb.com/title/tt5776858/The Post: www.imdb.com/title/tt6294822/Roman J. Israel, Esq.: www.imdb.com/title/tt6000478/The Shape of Water: www.imdb.com/title/tt5580390/Stronger: www.imdb.com/title/tt3881784/Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri: www.imdb.com/title/tt5027774/My predictions: Call Me by Your Name, Darkest Hour, Dunkirk, Get Out, The Greatest Showman, Lady Bird, The Post, The Shape of Water, and Three Billboards will get the nods with Lady Bird taking home the award.

Considering Kathryn Bigelow’s history with the Oscars, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Detroit get nominated.
I’d like to see Blade Runner nominated but I’m more hopeful of them finally giving Roger Deakins an Oscar for the cinematography. Forget DiCaprio eventually winning, the fact that Deakins has never won after so many nominations is the biggest “wrong” the Academy needs to right. But whatever gets nominated I can’t see past Dunkirk for the win.

I want "The Disaster Artist" to be nominated, just for the surreal sight of seeing Tommy Wiseau at the Academy Awards.

I predict Logan won't get nominated....and this will make me sad. I could see Hugh getting a best actor nomination, though. Johnny Depp was once nominated for playing Jack Sparrow. The Academy loves Hugh, so I could see him getting in the race.

I'd love for Coco to get consideration, but I bet Dunkirk, Lady Bird, Florida Project and Get Out are favorites. I haven't seen The Post yet, but come on, it's a Meryl Streep film. It's their law.

Jackman gave such a heartbreaking, visceral performance. He really did. I'd love to see him conclude his run by being the first person to win best leading actor for playing a superhero. As performances go, it was something else.

Jackman gave such a heartbreaking, visceral performance. To be honest, Patrick Stewart and Dafne Keen could get supporting actor nominations and I don't think many would have a problem with it. They and Jackman were all wonderful.

If it helps sway anyone, Lady Bird won the Golden Globe for Musical/Comedy Picture, and Three Billboards won for Drama Picture.

I never understand how a director can win best director and then not have their film win best picture. The director (Most of the time) is the one who decides how the movie turns out. How can someone be the best director when their film wasn't the best movie? This is in reference to Guillermo del Toro winning best director for The Shape of Water and then it not winning best picture. I know it's happened before, but that just doesn't make sense to me.

I always saw it as direction being just a part of the whole, with the rest being acting, screenwriting, music, and editing, which are all considered when choosing Best Picture. Then again, I'm sure there's probably been occasions when a movie has won the bulk of the individual categories but not won Best Picture.
