I’m kind of struggling. Most of those released by WWE who weren’t getting their due from the company did fine (Sydal, Morrison, etc.) and the ones released because they sucked weren’t booked many places for that very reason (Conway, Walker, etc.). Maybe Muhammad Hassan, but after that experience I’m not surprised he just quit wrestling altogether.

I can’t believe Emma isn’t going for at least 5K an appearance.

He was supposed to report to ovw but never returned their calls.

I think there's a cycle once you're released from wwe.
You get like six months where you are in high demand because of the tv exposure but after that you need to branch out and do something else otherwise your bookings diminish.
Going back to La Resistance example, I think that's why Rob Conway is still around and Sylvain Grenier dissapeared.

I know she's got at least 1 date in the UK in April, she'll probably hit a few other indies around here, but yeah, that no compete can be a bitch.

He was heavily featured part of the show for the majority of his time there. And when he was released he was a part of an over tag team with Kofi and they were the tag team champions when Sydal got his first Wellness strike... and they were probably going to win it again if he didn't get his second IMMEDIATELY upon returning.

Poor choice of words. What I meant was that the guys who had a reputation for great matches tended to continue getting booked, while the “what did WWE see in this guy?” types didn’t.

Was a bit surprised Chris Masters didn't get more indy bookings. From talking to the 2 guys he worked with during his first appearance in Wildkat,Chris was super nice behind the scenes and even helped break down the ring after the show.

My friend booked him multiple times. It happened before I was attending the shows, but I have been told tons of times that Masters not only helped set up and tear down for the entire event, he also rushed back to their house to help set up for the afterparty they always throw. Everyone I know who has been around him says he's one of the coolest dudes in the world. I wanna say it was also him who liked a move one of the local guys did, so he asked permission to steal it, and then had the guy showing him how to do it in the back (this *may* have been Kevin Thorn, who is also a supremely nice guy).

I think Colt Cabana once explained that. There are guys like Sydal and Luke Gallows when he got fired, who will get book anywhere because they know how the indy circuit works and are good enough to work in important companies in order to make a comeback. Then there are guys like Ricky Ortiz, who retire because once outside the wwe buble they are lost, don't know how to hustle and are not good enough for a promoter to hire them.
