But ended up loving.
For me it was the Fantastic Four and Namor. My first exposure to the FF was the really mediocre movies in the 2000's and thought they were lame but recently I've been reading FF comics from the very beginning and they might be my second favorite team (first being the X-Men.) With Namor I first saw him when my grandma bought me a book on the history of Marvel. I immediately thought he was an Aquaman rip-off not knowing he debuted before Aquaman. But ever since I started reading him he's become one of my favorite characters. I not as knowledgeable on Marvel or DC as many of the users here so I interested on you guys and gals think.

Moon Knight. Dude just screamed “knock off Batman”, and welp here we are. Granted it helps that he’s had some damn good writers and artists behind him.

Captain America. Never really read many of the comics, because the ones I did read I didn't care for at all, but Chris Evans' portrayal is easily my favourite comic book character ever committed to screen.

The 2 volumes of Marvel Essentials Moon Knight are two of my favorite trades to re-read. I saw him in I think Marvel Team Up and thought he was just a second rate Batman. Then read the Monech/Bill Skienkevitcz run and those two really made Moon Knight into his own character. In ways it is like how Denny O'Neil took Green Arrow from being Batman with a bow to being a fully fleshed out character.

Quake, not because I hated the character. I simply had never heard of her until Agents of SHIELD made her a major character in an interesting way.

I had an "eh" opinion on Rocket Raccoon and Black Panther just based on their comics I read over the years. The Guardians films and Civil War won me over to their side. The MCU did a great job making them more sympathetic.

The Incredible Hercules. I thought he was just going to be a lame quasi-Thor. He's a really funny, enjoyable quasi-Thor.

The new Ms Marvel. When I first heard about it, I thought that "Muslim teenage girl superhero" sounded like Marvel's way of shouting "LOOK AT HOW PROGRESSIVE WE ARE!!"
When I took the first set of issues out of the library (I love graphic novels collecting issues), I was blown away by how much I enjoyed it.

With Cap, I already generally liked the character when I bought a ticket for First Avenger, but his movie trilogy and Chris Evans' portrayal pushed him to my #1 spot.

I never thought I'd like Aquaman as much as I do. god bless Batman: Brave and the Bold.
Incredible Hercules and Ms. Marvel stand out as two characters/books I thought would be kinda lame, last 12 issues or so and then be cancelled and I am so happy to be wrong on both those assessments.
I'd also completely written off Shatterstar as the single lamest and most comically dated of Marvel's 90s anti-hero lineup. and then Peter David got his hands on the guy. bonus points for exposing Rob Liefeld as a biphobic man-baby.

Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz. That's a good answer. I don't read f*** all for Marvel anymore, so can't really vouch for Kamala, Miles, Riri (I think that's Iron Hearts name?) or any of Marvel's newer characters, but I can definitely say I really enjoy the new Green Lanterns. Hated the idea of Damien Wayne, and wasn't reading at the time but REALLY hated when I heard he was the new Robin, but since getting back into regular reading last year he's quickly become one of my favourites. I love how he plays off Superboy and the Teen Titans.

X-Man/Nate Grey. Really got into his comic series back in the day.

oh yeah Damian Wayne is another one. one of Grant Morrison's few misfires over the years. he gave us a whiny, spoiled Cousin Oliver who likes killing people, and constantly waffled about whether we were supposed to like him or not. it got even worse when he displaced Tim Drake as Robin. thank god Peter Tomasi came in and completely revised him to be a hilarious, adorable parody of his dad.

I will admit I always avoided Captain America because "patriotism" always rubbed me off wrong way. But he is nowhere near the uber patriotism I thought he would be.Even in comics,he turned out to be one of the characters with most depth now days

Though he's never been a blind jingoist in his best comics, anyway.

I wasn't a fan of GL John Stewart. I grew up with Hal Jordan as my Green Lantern.
But after DCAU Justice League/JLU? It just seems weird without John. He's become my new favorite Green Lantern.
