Am I the only one who doesn't especially want to see or even understand the Omega/Cody thing? To me Cody is miles beneath Omega as a worker and I don't get what it does for anyone. With the Bullet Club gravy train still rolling merchandise wise I don't get why you'd do a split storyline or what it accomplishes. I can see Cody doing something goofy to cost Omega the U.S. title against Jay White, then Omega takes it out on him at either the Long Beach show or the ROH show at WM time. But then what? Just have these guys make up.
In terms of Long Beach, does that show have anything to do with the New Japan Cup?

I just think they want to have a foundation laid for whenever they want to pull the trigger on a full BC change and/or a full Omega face-turn. I don't feel like they have any intention of booking GoD, Fale, or a few others as faces, so they want to keep the door open to those guys splintering off into their own group (Tama did talk some more shit about Kenny after New Years Dash) while Kenny runs a reorganized and likely more fully babyface BC...I'd say he wouldn't be Bullet Club anymore, but I think they know that Kenny is a big reason that merch moves so well so I don't see them separating him from it. That said, yeah, I think it's a bit curious that they keep basing aspects of this story around Cody. Cody's not going to be working Japan full time so he's not going to become the leader or anything, but if I had to place a bet I think that they tried the story out last year with Dominion and the Long Beach shows, backed off on it, but now Kenny and Cody are looking to bring it back, I'm guessing, because they might want to sell that "All In" 10,000 seat bet show the Bucks and Cody have been talking about with a Rhodes vs. Omega match. Again, that's just speculation on my part given how they even worked the stuff into their latest Being the Elite video, but it wouldn't shock me.

It's currently got three units of "The Polynesians" "The Elite" and "The Rest" and the latter in particular feel like a bunch of gaijin plus Yujiro thrown together for the sake of it. I don't want a three way split so much as The Elite get exiled but then Tama backstabs Cody and cuts some of the chaff in a bid to restore BC's roots. Some storytelling potential there especially if Cody then formed his own new faction. Also fantasy booking for the IC belt now would have Suzuki kill Tana for all of 2018, Taguchi Japan fight Suzuki Gun for revenge with Juice getting his moment by dethroning Suzuki at Dominion, Suzuki wins it back sometime after the G1, and then Tanahashi makes his heroic return at WK13, finally back to 100%.

I agree with Bullet Club "losing it's identity" and I see Tama/Bad Luck Fale trying to restore it in Japan. I can definitely see the Elite being exiled and going full blown babyface. I could see Tama stabbing Cody in the back, but I think it will be Tama as the leader in Japan and Cody in the US. I don't like the idea of a three way split. Interesting point on Juice, actually wanted to see him avenge Suzuki for the G1 and beat him for the NEVER belt. But if(I really hope) Suzuki wins the IC title, I would love to see Juice dethrone him.

I'd be interested in seeing if the Tonga boys would want to recruit Henare to their side; he's a New Zealander like Fale, and he's half Maori. I know Henare is in the same phase as Dave Finlay right now (former Young Lion who's not going on excursion overseas and is instead taking his lumps in Japan) so I'm not expecting him to do a lot in the next year or so, but I really, really hope he breaks through soon, the kid's got tons of skill.
For those wondering about Henare's outfit from WK, it turns out he's also half Wampanoag, a northeastern US Native American tribe, so his outfit/paint was meant to symbolize both halves. Pretty cool, I thought.
Speaking of Finlay, I do kind of hope he gets a chance to break through a little this year. He got his gimmicked outfit last year or so, and now it'd be cool if this was his time to begin winning a bit more and moving up the junior ranks. Given that some of NJPW's top juniors aren't all full timers, it'd be nice to see him snag a stronger spot.

I think if Jericho loses to Naito, that'd take him out of contention for a match with Okada. I'm thinking regardless, though, Jericho vs. Jay White seems more possible for SSE. Not that I should speak as if I know anything about NJPW, though. If EVIL wins at New Beginning while Sanada and Naito lose, then they pretty much have to do a "tension building in LIJ" story, don't they? I wouldn't say it takes Jericho out the running because more so Jericho can just challenge Okada and the match is set or Okada calls out Jericho for his sneak attacks and disrespecting the fans Also if EVIL wins I wouldn't say you have to do the tension building storyline. They sort of did it last year with SANADA and Evil as far as who was the number 2 man in the group and Naito let it play out between them. The group is too popular to tease dissension especially since they are on that same path with Bullet Club but you never know Really, the group that should have dissension in the ranks is Chaos, Okada just accepted a guy into their fold who openly said he was coming after Okada after they got done destroying Bullet Club. No matter his reasoning, what kind of leader does that?! I'm operating on a theory that Chaos may actually be the bad guys in all this.

Actually, as strange as it actually sounded, Okada brought Ishii, Goto and Ospreay in after facing them in matches. What is much stranger is Okada bringing a full blown heel in CHAOS, this hasn't happened since it was a heel group from my understanding.

I love how Naito will openly discuss wanting to battle his cohorts. After he won the title, he complained how Ishii received a shot over EVIL and SANADA. Naito wants to fight them, and show the group's superiority over everyone else.
