Alexander Rossi just got f***ed out of his shot at the Indy Car title by his own teammate, the Nepotistic Marco Andretti.

What a finish at the Charlotte Roval! Johnson and Truex wreck in the last corner and Ryan Blaney takes the win! Jimmie going for the win screwed him in the end, as he wound up tied for the final playoff spot going into the round of 12 and was eliminated.

Yeah the last dozen or so laps I caught were good racing. I hope they give this another go next year.

I know Daytona has a road course. I think Texas might as well.

I know Daytona has a road course. I think Texas might as well. Someone on Twitter listed all the tracks with road courses, but the thing is a lot of them aren't that good. Plus Charlotte spent a lot of money to basically cater their road course to NASCAR. I have been on the road course team for a few years now. The Roval worked, but I think some straight road courses, and short tracks, need to be added. I would take races away from some of the cookie cutter tracks with 2 races and add Mid Ohio, COTA in Texas and Mosport in Canada. I really think a short track in the pacific northwest would be an awesome add as well. Personally I wouldn't mess with Daytona unless it meant adding a third race. Pocono is a track where I would make one of their races a road course.

Existing "Roval" courses on the NASCAR Cup schedule (credit to Reddit for assembling the list): Auto Club Atlanta Daytona Homestead. I didn't know there was a road course at Homestead until looking into this. Would be cool to add an early-season second Miami race at the road course. Indy Kansas Las Vegas (Vegas also has a road course outside of it, as you can see. But I don't know much about the reality of that working.) Michigan. From everything I've read, a lot of work would have to be done to make this a go. New Hampshire. I have been in favor of this one. NHMS is a bland track that needs something. Pocono has a lot of layouts, but again a lot of work would need to be done to make it happen. Texas. Another "meh" option. Would be nice to work out a deal between Texas,in Fort Worth, and Circuit of the America's, in Austin. Most of the existing Roval courses are pretty bland, as was Charlotte before they revamped it. Functionally right now, Daytona, Homestead and Indy seem the most functional. NHMS would be cool as it's used very often for other series, and Pocono, while needing work, needs to do something if they want to retain 2 dates. Also, I was thinking, and have seen others mention, the old Cleveland Airport layout that Indycar used in the 90s would make an awesome road course layout.

Especially with that little chicane on the backstretch.

Yeah, the only thing I can't get over with people wanting a Daytona road course is the speed they carry on the oval combined with their braking and turning ability. If they're sliding into 1 taking the green at Charlotte, imagine the mess trying it at a superspeedway.

Yeah Daytona wouldn’t work if unless they made turn one a little more faster. Otherwise that’s probably a very likely destination for a future Roval race.
Indy and Pocono’s management have both hinted at running a NASCAR race on the road course, I don’t know what shape Pocono’s is in but it should take less to make han Charlotte. Indy requires nothing really.
SMI has ruled out any other of its tracks using the road course, so no Atlanta, Las Vegas, or New Hampshire. I could see Eddie Gossage in Texas pushing to use the Texas road course after the success of Charlotte, but there’s also absolutely zero chance of them working with COTA to do something

Looks like a wet/intermediate Q3 in Japan.
....but not soon enough for Ferrari who started in INT. tires. Vettel starts 9th.
