Blink 182 "Enema of the state" is the first record I've ever got, the band has a special place in my heart and I have a lot of happy memories from my childhood and teenage years from listening to their songs.
I know that Tom Delonge refused to return because he had prior commitments so Blink moved on without him and recorded "California".
I just learned that those commitments apparently were starting an alleged scam asking people for donations regarding UFO's and something about building a space ship. I also watched him in the Joe Rogan podcast and he was beyond pathetic and he appeared to be mentally unstable. Its really sad watching one of your childhood icons like that.
Is this a publicity stunt? Is he really conning people out of money? Is this an elaborate prank like what Andy Kaufman used to do? Is he for real?

My memory on this may absolutely be wrong, so take this with a grain of salt, but I seem to remember about a decade back he really started spouting this conspiracy stuff, then later it came out it was inspired by a lot of drugs. I think he genuinely believes it to be true; I don't think he's deliberately conning people, but the dude needs help. It's a damn shame. One of my favorite memories is the time I thought I was going to die in a moshpit at a Blink 182 gig.

I’ve never been into them, but how can you do a Blink 182 reunion without Tom Delonge?

Conspiracy theorists refer to it as a TR-3B; some believe it's a machine the government secretly built from gathering UFO intelligence. "It's pure, unadulterated anti-gravity," he says, marveling at the craft's movement. "It would scare people if they knew this existed." It's from the article...I don't know what to say. My childhood hero became the idiot from the Aliens meme. This f***ing guy wrote the four albums that I grew up on; Enema of the state, Mark Tom and Travis Show, Take of your Pants and Jacket, and Untitled. Yeah my childhood just died and I feel stupid. Time to throw the records to the garbage. Oh yeah this nut was too extreme for Joe Rogan, keep in mind Rogan interviews flat earthers and Alex Jones, and somehow Delonge was crazier than all of them.

Really liked the Angels & Airwaves albums he did. The talent is still there, dude is just nuts now. When his former band members are asked about him they do seem to speak with more pity than anger.

I’ve never been into them, but how can you do a Blink 182 reunion without Tom Delonge? I don’t think it was the plan. Two thirds of the band seemed to really want to make +44 their new full time gig, but when it didn’t hit right away they seemed to change their minds about starting from the bottom. For what it’s worth I saw them with Matt Skiba in 2015 and they sounded fine.

TMZ asked Travis Barker and he said that he was just happy that Tom was following his passion, he said it in a "bless his heart" this fn moron.

I’ve never been into them, but how can you do a Blink 182 reunion without Tom Delonge? Mark and Travis are forty year olds with children, do you really want them around this loon?

I’m not a fan of the band so I don’t care either way. It’s just when I think of Blink 182 I think of that dude with the lip ring singing “All the Small Things”

To be a little fair to Tom, the recently released video that the government admitted was from them showing what appears to be a UFO was released by his To The Stars academy. It actually got mainstream coverage as I saw it on ABC News one evening. Plus, he does have a former member of the Pentagon now working with him on this stuff so it gives him a little credibility. I'm not saying that I necessarily believe in UFOs and such but I'm not going to fault him for chasing his passion especially if it does actually lead to something.

Yes and while it's impressive that he has a former member of the pentagon working with him, there's also a doctor that's part of his staff, and he was fooled by Uri Geller and claimed that the magician actually had psychic powers. I have no problem with UFO's, it's the other stuff that Tom believes in and his behavior that worries me.

how you can have Blink-182 with Tom is to have Tom quit the group effectively killing it, have them get back together years later, and then have Tom quit again a few years after that over the same reasons
sucks he gone, but it'd be more upsetting if California wasn't one of their best albums

This has been a long standing issue with Tom, I don't even follow them closely but I remember threads on here...or maybe the old Crap board admittedly, where the discussion and fallout of Angels & Airwaves happened. Where people posted a bunch of articles and videos from him in the lead-up to the release of the first album spouting all sorts of nonsense. Not even just about UFOs, but essentially going full "Yeezus" Kanye West with claiming himself to be a messiah and a voice of a generation, and how the world leaders don't want the Angels & Airwaves album to come out because it will literally change everything the moment it drops.
I remember some people on the net bought into the hype too, thought Angels & Airwaves would be Tom's "coming out party" as a musician, that he'd expand his range. When in reality, it was an alright album for his sound but it was very distinctly a Tom Delonge album and nothing more.
He did it again for the second album's drop, but by then people caught on and knew better.

Listen to his recent appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast. I listened without doing any prior research and he came off looking like a f***ing lunatic. After reading into it...he still looks crazy, but some of the stuff he said has some basis.
