I think they're saving the best for WrestleMania. Maybe not as loony as anything that Matt did in TNA but it'll be close. So why not do a slow build? I'm really hoping for Vanguard I flying around in the Superdome! And the Silver-- Oh, it's been demolished?

Everything that made broken matt awesome is being ignored. He should be delusional and do more appearances in the ring. Not in the pre recorded bits. Why would anyone care?

Trading interactive promos saying the same shit pre recorded for two months will kill anyone. How the f*** did they mess this up. WWE messed Woken Matt up because when it comes down to it, WWE is just TOO GOOD to be truly BAD. Keep in mind, WWE can be bad, mind you- they can be very bad, a lot of times. However, at the same time, when you keep in mind whether WWE is good or bad, it also has to be mentioned: the wrestlers in WWE are by and large the best in the business, and we've reached a point where even the worst person on the WWE roster would be at least "they're okay." Likewise, WWE has some of the best booking minds in the sport, and any booking mind who'd be considered one of the best in the sport is one that WWE could get if they really wanted to. Whether or not WWE's product is good or bad does not change that on and offscreen, the WWE is a VERY, VERY HIGH-QUALITY wrestling promotion right now... ...and because of that, they were doomed to fail at the Woken Matt Hardy stuff. They never had a chance of getting it right. Broken Matt Hardy worked because TNA hit rock bottom, and when they hit rock bottom, they grabbed a jackhammer and started hammering all the way into the magma, and when they hit magma kept going until they hit the earth's core, and when they hit the core kept going until they came out the other end and flew out into the very depths of space and kept going until they reached the ends of the universe. TNA was so bad, on every conceivable level, that Broken Matt's saga was able to harness the all-important So Bad It's Good factor and run with that to become excellent. Woken Matt Hardy, on the other hand, is like if, after the success of "The Disaster Artist", some major movie studio went to Tommy Wiseau and said "We want to remake 'The Room'. We'll give you a $150 million budget, we'll get the best screenwriters in Hollywood to work on the script, and we'll give you an A-List Cast. Just give us 'The Room'." The results would still be bad, but they won't be BAD ENOUGH to become awesome.

Trading interactive promos saying the same shit pre recorded for two months will kill anyone. How the f*** did they mess this up. The question should be "Why did they mess this up?," and the answer is quite simple. It wasn't theirs. It wasn't a gimmick or a thing THEY created, so, while it got somewhat used, it was never going to be used as good as it was in TNA, as at least in TNA, Matt was given the freedom to do whatever the hell he wanted to do. The only reason he even somewhat got to do the "Broken" thing here was because everyone was expecting it, and honestly, with Jeff being on the shelf, what the hell else was Matt going to do? But once again, it wasn't a WWE/Vince McMahon creation, so, it was never going to get the priority that it should have gotten, just because of that fact.

Still holding out for when (if?) they go to the Hardy house and seeing what they do there. That’s their ace in the hole if they want to re-energise this feud.

The year-long, drawn-out, almost-there-but-not-quite teasing of Broken Matt has been the most frustrating thing in wrestling for me. There have been so many "okay, now it's starting" moments that have led to a giant pile of disappointment.
I'd like to know what brain genius decided endless repetition of mundane things was the key to getting the act over. This isn't a "less is more" gimmick, the whole point is it's batshit crazy and unpredictable. It doesn't even need much of a budget, or indeed any budget, just Matt's wacky imagination.
Even assuming there's some weird legal reason we can't have Senor Benjamin or Reby or King Maxel or Vanguard One, just substitute something else, anything else to add craziness from week to week. We had Matt talking to a goldfish one week, that was an okay start, but then we were right back to laughter, more laughter, buzzwords, then some additional laughter just in case you missed last week's bout of laughing.
This shouldn't be difficult, WWE, and somehow you're f***ing it up regardless.

This was always going to happen as they wanted the Hardys for their nostalgia value and for Jeff. Matt was never, ever going to get the freedom to be weird and produce his own stuff he got in TNA, all the lawsuit from them really did was delay the inevitable mediocrity of the WWE incarnation of broken.

His feud with Bray has literally been mostly the two laughing at each other like goobers.

It’s the same thing with WWE ruining everything these days...not just things they didn’t create. Their creative team is a joke. They have no idea how to write for people and that’s their damn job. I can literally pull a better Matt/Bray feud out of my ass.
1) Matt starts a losing streak against EVERYONE leading to him slowly getting frustrated.
2) Enter Bray...but not until 2 months later than the feud started. Bray sees what’s laying dormant inside Hardy and wants to unleash it to join him. He continues attacking Hardy after matches and even eliminates him at the Rumble causing him to become Woken.
3) Promos leading up to Elimination Chamber where Bray and Matt face off. Bray wins and proceeds to keep assailting Matt and mocking him leading to him becoming Broken.
4) Matt returns the favor and starts stalking Bray after matches and even shows up at the Wyatt Compound...inexplicably rebuilt. He wrecks the place and challenges Bray to show up at the Hardy Compound for the match everyone wanted from the beginning.
5) Random hilarity ensues.
6) Bray gets thrown into the Lake of Reincarnation and emerges as basically IRS Jr...the Hardy’s personal accountant.
7) Profit.

It feels like a big successful movie studio trying to purposely make a campy B Movie.
It's like asking a AAA Chef to make a grilled cheese sandwich. You'll end up with fancy artisan bread, 6 kinds of aged cheese and toasted in a wood fired oven... when you really just wanted 2 pieces of wonder bread, a kraft single and half burning it in a teflon pan that's missing most it's non-stick coating.

They just cut a deal with TNA to get the Broken Matt footage so they must have some sort of plan for this beyond what they're doing

I'd just like to point out that, right before the first compound skit with him and Jeff, this was pretty much exactly what Broken Matt was like.
Say random crap, lose a lot, lose his mind further and say more random crap.
The only reason it went anywhere was because Jeff got to his house and Reby threw a doll at him.
