I mean, after tonight, Bama now has as many titles as the Patriots in fewer years.
Heck, the Patriots had a 9 year stretch with no titles and only 2 SB appearances- Bama since 2008-09 has only had 1 stretch of more than 1 year without a title (2013-14, 2014-15). Yes, the Patriots always make the AFC-CG, but they at the moment have only made consecutive Super Bowls once.
Obviously, the Patriots are a team that many love to hate, but the Tide are right up there for some.
And in light of ANOTHER championship comeback against a team from Georgia....... well, they certainly know how to get heel heat.
Which is the better football heel, if you will?

I don't hate either of them, really. So maybe New England for having more controversies attached to them?

Bama
As polarizing as the Pats are, they have one huge advantage over Bama, they aren't chosen to play for a championship. They win their division, and get into the playoffs. Twice we've seen Bama chosen to be in the championship or playoff above other teams that won their conferences.

It's a coin flip. It is not the Pats fault the other teams in their division have been joke for the most part of this century, and it's not Bama's fault the way college football ceding is determined.
I guess I will say Bama is more heelish since outside the coaching staff they profit off of free labor, but then again that is true for all ncaa teams.
...but he Pats got caught on Tapegate and Deflategate, but if they were the only teams doing that I'll eat a big plate of liver and onions without gravy.
Both head coaches are pricks.
Alabama Heads, Pats Tails.....Heads wins. and yes I actually flipped a quarter to chose the vote.

Always.

It would be hard to live in Boston on a Bama players salary. Well, at least some of them.

Granted, I have some bias on this as a Pats fan, but there's something to the notion that the Patriots actually beat people to get into championship games.

I don't especially hate Alabama, though I was for Georgia last night. There was a sort of LOLBamaWins vibe about it. The Patriots I flat out despise however. Alabama pulled one out of nowhere last night but multiply that by 100 and that's the Patriots over the past 16 years. To me the New England Patriots winning 5 Super Bowls is like if the Honky Tonk Man was a 5 time WWF champion from 1987-2001. I'll admit that I have been a big Colts/Manning fan since about 1999 (well, Colts before that circa 1995 when Harbaugh was QB)
The Patriots have reached a level of X-Pac heat with me that no one else has. At one point they at least had good heel heat and I wanted to see someone beat them (say 2007). But especially since Peyton Manning's retirement I really, really don't want to watch the Pats ever again. They are so unbelievably stale, the AFC is a dumpster fire, and it's not going to get any better as long as Belichick and Brady are around.

Twice we've seen Bama chosen to be in the championship or playoff above other teams that won their conferences. Pretty much this. While I used to hate the Pats with a passion, that hatred is pretty much gone. Especially after seeing Brady's Mom fighting breast cancer. Plus, it's not their fault that the rest of the division is a bunch of incompetent schmucks. Bama just gets things handed to them. Didn't win the conference or division? F*** it, here's a free pass.

Bama feels like I'm watching Triple H's Reign of Terror reincarnated. I said in 2012, they have become the Triple H of College Football.
The Patriots to me are more like Ric Flair NWA Heel. At least they are a good villain.

Alabama. At least with the Patriots there’s times when I don’t care if they win or lose. Alabama? I want them to fail every time they play for a National Championship regardless of the opponent.

I could care less about both of them. They can both kiss my fat ass. Both are bad for sports, in general.

Alabama.
I don't care what NFL team you're a fan of, you don't hate New England as much as Auburn hates Alabama. And that's before you get into the other SEC teams, and THEN the rest of the country.
But, proof is in the pudding- Crimson Tide is historically the best college football team given their number of national titles and how they're almost always right there. They've really only had a few down periods since college football became a thing.
By contrast, while NE has been excellent for nearly two decades now, that's their sole run really outside of a few blips here and there. And likely once Brady/Belichick are gone they'll fade back to the pack.

Definitely Alabama. The Patriots at least earn their championships through the regular season and playoff runs versus arbitrary playoff seeding by a committee.

Nick Saban couldn't cut it in the NFL so now he gets paid millions to yell at 18 year olds and gets lauded as this coaching genius for it.
Bama didn't beat anybody relevant until the playoffs but was given a spot anyway because f*** it, it's Alabama

To be fair, coaching in college is pretty different than the pros and a lot of them fail at the transition.
