So Patriots fans, you think Brady should drop the mic if he wins another Lombardi
Or does he truly want to play 3-5 more years and basically turn the AFC into an unrecognizable smoking crater?

He's playing next year, 99% sure about that one. He's probably playing the year after. He'd probably like to keep playing after that but I'm guessing at 44 years old as great shape as he could be in you start getting diminished returns. All said the only season I feel confident in saying he'll play is the next one.

OK, I gave the Patriots their due, but now I'm about to unleash a rant: 18 years. 18 freaking years. The Dracula of football. Rasputin. The team that seemingly cannot be killed. I'm tired of Brady. I'm tired of Belichick. I'm tired of them basically winning with scheme instead of talent. I'm tired of them basically making 10 point 2nd half deficits feel like a tie game. I'm tired of them reducing the AFC East to the worst division in football. I'm tired of them beating more talented teams with basically a bunch of small slot guys. I'm tired of them never having to play a Wild Card Game. I'm tired of mercenaries like Brandon Cooks, Kenny Britt, James Harrison, Gilmore (as a Bills fan, it makes my blood boil that he had to sell his soul to New England to actually do something meaningful). I'm tired of the seemingly never ending media worship over all things Pats (Don't get me started on SKip 'BRADY HAS NEVER PLAYED AT A HIGH LEVEL' Bayless I'm tired of being tired of their seemingly never ending greatness. I'm tired of their spoiled rotten fanbase who will probably not even rank this a top 10 greatest win in team history. I'm tired of it all. I have a severe case of Patriots fatigue, Brady Burnout, you name it. And after last year vs. Atlanta AND the Seattle game AND today.... it's getting to the point where I seriously wonder why do I bother with the NFL until they retire. This is why I was so happy when Denver knocked them off 2 years ago. Hard to believe at 1 point New England had a 9 year stretch with 0 titles and only 2 SB appearances. I get it, Brady's great. But you can only put up with so many ways of hearing ZOMG BRADY'S THE GOAT! When he retires, he will not only go down as the best ever, but he will have singlehandedly ruined dozens of teams who have never been there. We cry out for fresh blood, something refreshingly different- but no, we get another year of the most annoyingly great QB ever When Brady and Belichick retire, when the AFC stops being the All Foxboro Conference and the NFL stops being the National Foxboro League, the NFL will be better off. 31 NFL fanbases will throw a damn parade. Well, enough is enough and hopefully it'll be time for a change in 2 weeks. Sanders, BRV, I hope your team falls flat on their face and is second best because the last thing we need is a Bama/Patriots double dip. I've given you a ton of grief over the years. Some deserved, some maybe a little harsh. But I'm going to be 100% sincere here: Your time is coming. Nothing lasts forever, whether it be glory, or obscurity. Take it from someone who saw the Sox and Patriots as jokes throughout his childhood. As someone who saw the Bruins and Celtics as shells of what they used to be. The euphoria of seeing your team win it all is awesome. You're going to get there. And someday, soon, it'll be me watching the Pats miss the playoffs, going 6-10 recalling the "glory days" of Brady and Belichick. That said, I'm not going to feel bad for enjoying this ridiculous run that the Patriots, and Boston Sports as a whole, have been on since 2001.

When the STL Rams won that Super Bowl and the Cards won those WSes in 2006 and 2011, I can attest I was over the moon. It did a good deal to erase much of the frustration I experienced with those teams earlier.
Of course, I've also been a victim of Boston's sports success as well. Super Bowl XXXVI and the 2004 and 2013 WSes were (and still are) incredibly painful for me.
But even with that, I never extended my anger or grief towards Red Sox or Pats fans. I feel going after fanbases in anything should be off-limits. Sports, geeky stuff or otherwise, I can't vibe with it. I'll root for the Cubs to lose all day, but I'll never try to make someone else feel bad for supporting them.

I have never met a nice Patriots fan in my life in person. Sorry for beating a dead horse, and I WILL stop after this, but again, its not easy to turn off bitterness after remembering repressed memories. It wasn't a fun time... I'm a Patriots fan. Started watching in 1989 when I could. They would only televise games on the road against dominant teams because of the NFL blackout rule. I'd watch them win between 1-5 games every year until 1996. They made the Super bowl... lost, became a great one and done NFL team until 2001. Couldn't believe they won a Super Bowl, still the sports highlight of my life.
I'm married, own a house and a dog. I run a brewery, and I volunteer for Meals on Wheels 3 days a week while also volunteering and the New England Wildlife Center on Sundays.
The past 18 years as a Patriots fan have been great but like all teams, theres been more disappointment than success.
2005 losing to the Broncos in the AFC divisional round after the refs didn't know how to call a fumble into the endzone 2006 watching them blow a 2 touchdown lead against the Colts in the AFC championship and the Colts going on to win against a Bears team the Patriots already beat. 2007. Going 16-0 and losing the super bowl because a guy superglued a football to his helmet 2008 Brady goes down game one. 2009 Getting blown out at home, one and done by the Ravens. 2010 Losing the divisional to a team you smoked by 30+ a few weeks prior (lead by Mark Sanchez) 2011 Lose by a miracle catch in the Super bowl again... go Giants 2012 Lose the AFC championship to the Ravens again... ugh 2013 Creamed by the Broncos. 2015 Creamed by the Broncos.
Lets not pretend the Patriots win the title evert damn year. It's a hell of a run, maybe the best ever. Still more heartbreak than triumph.

It's incredibly petty to make someone feel bad because their favorite team wins and then have the audacity to paint all the fans with a broad brush as bad If sports make you that miserable don't watch. Sure we all get caught up in the emotion of it but the constant belittling of fan bases because you don't like that team is sad Because you are sad or mad, you shouldn't try to take anyone's joy away from them

So Patriots fans, you think Brady should drop the mic if he wins another Lombardi Or does he truly want to play 3-5 more years and basically turn the AFC into an unrecognizable smoking crater? After trading away Jimmy Garoppolo this past October, ensuring that the Patriots' near future under center is Tom Brady's, I'd be floored if he decided to hang up his helmet and retire, even after winning a sixth Super Bowl. I'd like to think that Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick had some sort of assurance from Brady that he'd play a few more seasons before the decision was made to trade Garoppolo. Brady's said he wants to play until he's at least 45, he's still the best (or one of the best, depending on your allegiances) quarterback in the NFL, and he's shown no significant signs of regression. And watching how emotional he was in the post-game interview on Sunday night, you can tell he still has the same edge and competitive drive that he had when he was a pup starting for the Patriots in Super Bowl XXXVI. It's incredibly petty to make someone feel bad because their favorite team wins and then have the audacity to paint all the fans with a broad brush as bad If sports make you that miserable don't watch. Sure we all get caught up in the emotion of it but the constant belittling of fan bases because you don't like that team is sad Because you are sad or mad, you shouldn't try to take anyone's joy away from them I'm a Patriots fan and I'll never apologize for it. And I'll never castigate or criticize another fan for their loyalty. The day I decide that I've grown tired of my team winning is the day I stop watching professional football.

For every Lee Evans dropped pass there was a David Tyree catch. If Asante Samuel and Wes Welker can catch a football there are two more Super Bowl Championships the Patriots have. That's the way the game goes.
One of these days Tom Brady is going to go back for a pass, release the football and the football is going to flutter in the air right into the arms of a defender and the end of his career will be at hand. It's happened to all quarterbacks and it will happen to him.

I get what Toilet Paper Roll is saying. New England did have a 9 year stretch with 0 championships and only 2 SB appearances.
But because they practically live in the AFC CG (and how close they came twice against the Giants), That stretch doesn’t exactly feel like ancient history. Heck, We were basically 4 plays from that 9 year stretch being another phase of titles.
Even that 9 year stretch had so many close calls (Lest we forget the 2006 AFC CG), So even then, it always felt like they were never out of it. Close, but no cigar, if you will. At no point did I ever feel in those years New England had 0 shot at the Super Bowl.
Like, if the Seattle SB went differently, 28-3 could have ended a 12 year stretch where they were stuck on 3 titles or vice versa with beating SEA and losing to ATL and Brady might still be tied with Montana.
(Or if they make the 2 point conversion in Denver, they’d be in 4 straight Super Bowls at worst and maybe going for 4 titles in a row (depending on how you think they may have done against Cam Newton in SB 50)
Hell, the only time Brady ever missed the playoffs- 2002- was so long ago, that was the first year of current realignment (4 team divisions, no more AFC/NFC Central).
Really scary to think, 9 year drought noltwithstandkng, we were 3 games and 2 plays from saying “Brady is going for his 9th Super Bowl Championship in 2 weeks!”

The last two years Elway played the offense revolved around Terrell Davis not John Elway.

Elway is still among the most overrated athletes of all time. I don't consider Elway overrated, considering for the first 3 Super Bowls he was in that they lost, he was basically the offense and that was it. When they finally gave him other weapons on offense, they won

Elway had 1 season of 20 TD passes in 10 years under the conservative and offensively-lacking-support around him Dan Reeves.
His last 6 years post-Reeves: 20+ TD's 5 times (he missed 2 games in 1994 when he had 16 on a team that started 0-5).
I don't think that is a coincidence.
And keep in mind Elway played in an era unlike today where it was NOT easy to light it up as a QB.
Defenses dictated more compared to nowadays. The pass-friendly rules of 2004 were not even in consideration back in Elway's day.
