Do you really want to see old WWWF shows on the Network? Honestly? I think the space could be used for other, more watched, programming on there. I honestly wanted to see it....

How far back does the WWWF name go? 63 but most of their TV that is said to still be around is from the 70's There are some TVs from the mid-60s floating around in collectors' circles, under the title "Heavyweight Wrestling from Washington". I'm not sure what the ownership situation is there. They're obviously WWWF, but I have never seen WWE use any of their own footage from that era, so I'm not 100% sure if they own them, or even have them in their archives. I know when you go back as far as the 60s, it was common to erase master tapes for re-use, so I'm not even sure if 100% of the shows from 50 years ago still exist.

The WWE as an entity independent of the NWA goes back to 1963 when Buddy Rogers was declar.. err.. "won" the best in Rio De Janerio. But the Capitol Wrestling Collective that preceded it was created in 1953 when Jess McMahon partnered with Toots Mondt. After McMahon died his son Vincent James McMahon became a partner.

You mean the July 1988 event at the baseball stadium? Maybe, although it wouldn't be the full show as the Coliseum Video release of it cut out several matches. Still better than nothing. Weasel suit match needs to be on the network in all its glory It’s not?! WWE has put it on a few DVDs now.

I'm excited for all this.
Kind of surprised at the backlash to uploading WWWF footage. It's an entire era of wrestling we've largely never seen. Isn't one of the coolest elements of the network being expose to stuff you otherwise wouldn't have access to?

I know the network has some stuff from 1952 on there so I’d love to see some 60s stuff

I too am curious to see it. But mostly for one thing...
I have always heard about how the weekly WCCW and Mid-South shows are considered to be the first TV shows that presented wrestling on TV on a state-of-the-art level. So, I am curious to see how the WWWF shows from the same period looked in comparison.

I'd rather see the Thunder/Coliseum Video episodes go up first before the WWWF stuff to be honest.

Actually pretty similar to Mid-Atlantic, if that gives you an idea. Just brace yourself for a lot of Solo Vince calling the shows since he was all over WWWF stuff from the late 70s forward. If we do get Championship Wrestling, I want more MSG House Shows as companions. Garden and Spectrum too, but MSG please.

Does this mean we get the US Rampage video that had Mean Gene and Bobby Heenan hosting from a golf course? It had one of my favourite Heenan lines that never gets mentioned, when Gene is teaching Heenan how to play golf. Mean Gene: Now the first thing you have to do, is address the ball! Heenan: Hello ball! It sounds stupid written down but the way Heenan delivers the line cracks me up every time I think about it. That's a reference to the Jackie Gleason show "The Honeymooners"

If I want to watch a bunch of old men no one has cared about in decades I’ll watch WrestleMania.

Says a lot about Heenan that it was still funny as hell.
