Now I want to see Braun as the GM. Was coming in to post this. Him, Neville or Spud would be fun. If Bischoff's bored, he'd work since wasn't he at least partially responsible for putting cruisers on TV? Even if it meant they jobbed against the regular crew?

Not him in particular, but I remember when Lashley quit the first time, people were saying things like "Bathturd got flushed down the toilet", so it's not like people never saw it that way. I think I can confidently say that in 99% of the times it was used, no one was using the word “turd” as a representation of Lashley’s skin colour. This thread is legit the only time I’ve ever seen anyone associate the bathturd meme with Lasley’s skin color. That’s never even crossed my mind and seems like a reaaaaaaal stretch.

Yeah, that was my thinking re: Bischoff too. It's a longshot, but him being named GM and saying he wants to make the cruiserweights must see TV again would make sense. Braun as GM would just be plain ol' fun. Shit, if they wanted to make things even goofier they could make Alexa his co-GM.

With her recent injury and the potential for the end of her in ring career, maybe Paige?

Hornswoggle.
Although Nash would be perfect, especially if they just do the entire Papparazzi Productions stuff all over again (wouldn't happen tho)

what do you think Vince's announcement is going to be? He's going to be the 205 Live GM

A lot of good suggestions in here for who it could be. It's probably too soon after all that legal stuff (I don't know if he has reappeared since then), but it could also be neat to have David Otunga do - but play it as a completely neutral arbitrator. So neutral in fact, that to promote his neutrality he is "never in the building" - whenever he appears on screen his swivels dramatically around in a chair slurping from his thermos at the WWE home office to cast down his judgements and what not.

Scott Steiner please. Although, I love that the WWE is like "Man, 205 live sucks and nobody is watching? You know what it needs? An authority figure character because everyone loves those!" Given that 205 Live is only an hour or so long, you can't really do a lot of GM shennanigans like Raw and Smackdown. I think this is going to be more of a Regal in NXT type GM.

This will sound like satire but it's true. Meltzer said on Observer Radio that they have been wanting a GM for the show for months and originally wanted Summer Rae for the role before realizing she would be taller than some of the talent and thus not the best fit for it. He also said they want someone to play the straight character as the GM.

If there’s anything I’ve learned from so many times I’ve hyped myself up in situations similar to this in hype value, it’s don’t expect much. It’ll be Gulak, will would be hilarious, but not as big as what would be the hype of Rey Mysterio or someone like that. I hope I’m wrong, but WWE has a track record.

According to Meltzer, the plan is for a neutral authority figure and they’re gonna play it straight and above board.
I think that rules out Spud because that would be dulling his character work and that’s his biggest asset.
I know she’s never been the best talker, but I think Lita could work with the gimmick being that she feels a kinship to the cruiserweights because of their high-risk style.

"I understand there's an opening for a General Manager's position." "Have you worked for WWE before?" "uh, no... why do you ask?" "You look familiar." "Coincidence, really."
