He no doubt did it with a note on a napkin that read, "I resign as HC of IND."

Well, that changes things I wonder if this is Andrew Luck related or maybe he's hoping to stick around a few more years in hopes of taking over the position once Bill retires

Are the Colts cursed? Like The Second most cursed team in this league aside from The Browns?? We're getting there...

That's like if Shanahan decided "Fxxx you all" at the last possible second. Have to imagine it means Bill's reaching the end of the line and he's been hand-shake dealed the next HC.

Hmm... I maybe looking to much into this but I wonder if this is coming with a guarantee that he takes over next season at the latest.
That or the Colts are having Browns style issues.

But it's not a Billy Donovan situation as Billy D did do the press conference and inked the deal. Maybe he just looked at that Colts "glue factory" offense (gotta give UrinatingTree credit for that line) and said nope. or maybe... Belichick and Kraft got into his ear basically guaranteeing he gets the head coaching job in a few years once Bill retires.

That could be the case because as people figured that would happen as him and Jimmy G would have been the new combo but once they traded Jimmy that seemed out the door He's passed up a lot of coaching jobs in staying with the Pats as the OC but this is different for sure

I mean I wouldn't blame anyone for not wanting to deal with Jim Irsay F*** it, wouldn't hurt to call Peyton at this point (I say that in jest but wouldn't be surprised if he became a coach)

I this could fall into something he will regret later He's obviously being selective on jobs because he may not earn another HC job again if he fails again but in sort of a weird way this will hurt him just as much Like I said before it's been secret since the AFC championship game that he was a lock for Indy and tho it was reported he would "officially" be the HC, before he could put pen on paper he backed out That's def going to rub some people the wrong way and next time he interviews for a HC job if he doesn't get Pats job, this will surely be brought up
