Atlas Debone/Ricky Ortiz was an XFL guy. He also sucked. I got to see his work in OVW and he was really popular there, and did well at house shows. The problem was his high-energy gimmick didn't "Translate" to the larger arenas, kinda like Deuce before he was paired with Domino. On another board he was known as "Ricky Backslide" since IIRC he won his first televised match with one. Honeslty by the end of his run he was actually quite charismatic. He seeme to be finding the groove and then was released... What i'm saying is.... RALLY IT UP

His work in the urban wrestling federation while brief was life changing.

Ortiz seemed like a guy who could have gone places with his charisma if he just had a better look (his hair did him no favors) and if he started earlier (I think he was in his late 30s when he got to WWE TV).

I know the MVP of the league went on to sweep hair at a beauty salon in Springfield.

I know the MVP of the league went on to sweep hair at a beauty salon in Springfield. Which was Tommy Maddox. One of the few success stories.

Remember how Ricky Ortiz was originally Atlas Ortiz then they just awkwardly renamed him in a backstage segment with little explanation because Tony Atlas was about to show up? He was originally atlas dabone, then atlas Ortiz, then Ricky Ortiz. Like all in a week or two

Vince should have signed jim Drunkenmiller Druckenmiller played for the Maniax. I also remember people being offended that the name belittled people with mental illnesses. Anyways, Jim "Drunkandrapedher" was a huge bust.

Kind of a Proto MoJo. He was in WWECW for a bit. He had an energetic character and encouraged his fans to use rally towels. He also had big, Carlito-esque hair. I think he may have been on Smackdown for half a cup of coffee. I think that pretty much sums his run up. He’s currently married to Layla so he’s definitely doing good for himself there. Just to add to this - he won some matches, and had a pretty crappy splash/belly flop as a finisher. Also, if he debuted now, he’d simply be called “Ricky”. Have Layla come back to be his Lucy and you can take all my money!
