I actually like the instrumental From Russia With Love during the credits. Not my favorite but it deserves a mention.
--You Only Live Twice. I dare say this might be the best theme of the Connery era. Goldfinger as well but can you really imagine that one on the radio? I can imagine YOLT. --Live and Let Die. One of the very best. --Nobody Does It Better. The Moore era was chock full of great themes aside from Man With the Golden Gun. --For Your Eyes Only. Some dislike this one but if you can get past the early 80s production it's a good theme. --All Time High. Surprised this hasn't been mentioned. Did Mark Wahlberg's hideous version in Ted ruin it for everyone? --A View to a Kill. One of the worst Bond movies, one of the best themes. --The World is Not Enough. Probably the best theme of the Brosnan era. --Skyfall. Certainly the best theme of the Craig era.

- licence To Kill (Yes that's it's name, It's not up for debate) - World is Not enough - Skyfall (I despise Adelle but I do like this song) - Live & Let Die - OHMSS - Goldeneye (Hell even the Ace Of Base version was very good) - For Your eyes only
One I think could've been great is "Tomorrow Never dies" but Sheryl Crow butchered it

What movie would you say used its theme song the best instrumentally within the movie?
John Barry's instrumental use of All Time High always give me chills.

But it’s never been called that. Licence Revoked I always wondered what happened with that name and the theme tune. Was the theme always going to be the one we know now as there’s no rule that says the theme has to have the same title? I know the title change happened due to test screenings with American audiences but I don’t know if the theme was already in by those screenings.

I hold so much of the music from these movies in high regard. So i'm just going to narrow it down to what I consider to be the one best track for each Bond. Sean Connery "Goldfinger" by Shirley BasseyOther than the signature theme by John Barry, this still has to be the most iconic song from the entire series, despite some very close contenders. It deserves the high status, the song has never lost any of its power..and it sets the stage for the movie (and the character of Auric Goldfinger) with perfection. George LazenbyAll I'll say about the music from the one Lazenby outing is that both "We Have All the Time in the World" by Louis Armstrong (an incredible song for an incredible scene) and "On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Main Title)" by John Barry are all time favourites of mine. It's tied with the Zulu soundtrack as my favourite work of John Barry. Roger Moore"The Man with the Golden Gun" by LuluI'm not 100% happy with this choice. It's a coin toss between this and A View to a Kill. Today it's this one that "just" gets the nod. No dancing into the fire for me today, sorry Duran Duran Timothy Dalton"Licence to Kill" by Gladys KnightI like both of the Dalton movie themes, but in a choice between the two, this takes it every time. "I'VE GOT A LICENCE TO..KILT" Pierce Brosnan"GoldenEye" by Tina TurnerMy 2nd favourite from the Brosnan era would be "The World Is Not Enough", but "GoldenEye" is easily number one by a large margin. If I was making a personal top 10 list of Bond songs, this song would make the top 5 every time. I'll just say this about Madonna's "Die Another Day". I understand that many fans of the Bond series think it's the worst effort.....but that opening sequence! It's one of my favourite scenes in the entire series and the music worked perfectly for it. It's such a shame that the rest of the movie went massively downhill from that point onwards. Brosnan deserved a better exit. (I like to consider the old PS2/Xbox video game "Everything or Nothing" his true finale) Daniel Craig"Skyfall" by AdeleDespite my respect for Adele as an artist, as well as my understanding for why she's as popular as she is, most of her music isn't my cup of tea. Because of this song, she'll forever get a pass from me. One of the greatest songs from the entire series, she nailed it.

Who did the best version of the James Bond theme?
My preference is Bill Conti's. You have an awesome theme with a quintessential 80's vibe. Two of my favorite things.

"Got a license revoked And you know I'm going straight for your heart (Got a license revoked) Got a license revoked for Anyone who tries to tear us apart etc..." Best? Goldfinger Diamonds Are Forever Live and Let Die Nobody Does it Better Skyfall The James Bond theme itself Worst Die Another f***ing Day Lulu Edit: I know it’s a Father Ted thing but that word is still a filter dodge.

Goldfinger GoldenEye Skyfall The World Is Not Enough For Your Eyes Only
Goldfinger is and will always be the best Bond theme though.

"From Russia with Love" - I think the instrumental version kicks off the film, but the end titles with Matt Monro's vocal version is even better. Beautiful voice.
"Goldfinger" - The quintessential Bond theme. Absolute classic.
"Thunderball" - Another strong song. Great performance by Tom Jones.
"You Only Live Twice" - Dark, moody and very atmospheric. Gorgeous song.
"OHMSS" - The cumbersome title meant that an instrumental is used. It works very well. Propellerheads' cover version is also awesome.
"Diamonds Are Forever" - The second Bassey song. Another good one.
"Live and Let Die" - A rock song, which works very well for an action-based movie.
"The Man with the Golden Gun" - Probably the weakest of the older songs. Lulu's vocal is fine, but the lyrics are weak.
"Nobody Does It Better" / "All Time High" / "For Your Eyes Only" - Three non-typical Bond songs, all with good vocals. "All Time High" is the weakest of the three, but imagine trying to rhyme something with "Octopussy"
"Moonraker" - My personal favourite of the Bassey themes. The disco version over the end credits mixed with John Barry's score is even better.
"A View to a Kill" - The best ever Bond song. Without a doubt.
"The Living Daylights" - Another great song, especially with John Barry's added strings which I've heard a-ha didn't originally want. They were wrong.
"Licence to Kill" - Another fine song. Good performance by Gladys Knight.
"GoldenEye" - Brilliant song. Tina Turner is the only singer who could have delivered such a Bassey-esque theme.
"Tomorrow Never Dies" - I liked this one, even though it doesn't often get praised. It was a late addition to the film because kd lang originally did the theme (which was moved to the end credits), but I think Sheryl Crow's song fits the movie better.
"The World Is Not Enough" - Another dark song. Great performance from Shirley Manson.
"Die Another Day" - Different in that it's an electro-pop song. Some lyrics are terrible like "Sigmund Fraud...analyse this!" but it fits the intro, which actually continues the plot of Bond being tortured, during the credit sequence.
"You Know My Name" - Great song, although I felt Chris Cornell struggled at times to hit the higher notes, but still a strong effort.
"Another Way to Die" - IMO, the weakest of all the Bond songs. Terrible ad libs from Alicia Keys ("Bang bang bang", oh shut up), and the duet with Jack White just doesn't work. Far too choppy.
"Skyfall" - Beautiful song. Awesome performance from Adele. Probably the most bittersweet Bond theme.
"Writing's on the Wall" - Another good song, dark, melancholy and perfectly suited for Sam Smith.

"Another Way to Die" used in Quantum of Solace has to be the worst as I can never remember how it goes. At least the Lulu and Madonna songs are catchy.
