Austin and Bob talk about the 6/21/1993 edition of RAW. On the show, there is a best two out of three falls match between Marty Jannetty and Doink the Clown. We've got new tag team champions! Plus, the much anticipiated rematch between Razor Ramon and the 1-2-3 Kid. Can Kid pull off the upset again? Thanks - belatedly - for the shoutout, guys, keep up the good work with the show. 'Nuclear' Brad Clark for the win!

Austin and Bob sit down and talk about the July 26th, 1993 edition of Monday Night RAW. The show features a singles match between Bret Hart and Bam-Bam Bigelow. However, Jerry Lawler arrives and makes things very personal between himself and the Hitman. Plus, Lex Luger is interviewed by Vince McMahon and a vignette for the debuting Ludvig Borga. I'm listening to the KOTR episode, and there's something you didn't mention - not a criticism - about the crowd reaction post Hogan/Yoko.
I don't know if it's on version you saw but on the original broadcast, at the EXACT moment when the commentators talk about kids crying over Hogan's loss, the camera cuts to a beaming young girl happily waving at the camera with a 'Hi, Mom! I'm on TV!' look on her face.
Unintentional comedy gold.

Thought I would mention, since he's come up in the house show notes in the past couple episodes, that The Predator mentioned repeatedly is in fact Horace Hogan, getting a try-out in the waning days of his uncle's involvement with the company. Obviously, didn't take.

Austin and Bob talk about the August 16th, 1993 edition of Monday Night RAW. Lex Luger continues his interview series, this time talking about drug use in wrestling, actually, his personal drug use. Is he telling the truth? Also on the show, Bastion Booger looks to end the career of Marty Jannetty. 1-2-3 Kid competes in a rematch against Ted DiBiase. Will his luck continue? All this and much more on ICOPOD! icopod.podbean.com/e/episode-34-wwf-raw-8161993-luger-talks-about-drugs/

I've nearly finished episode 30, with the launch of the Lex Express. Personally, I don't think of this as a good time in the company's history. It seemed a bit aimless, spinning its wheels by not committing to Bret but also needing a big Hogan-esque star. That star was not Lex Luger; he was the wrong choice for the wrong gimmick at the wrong time. Furthermore, the whole angle seemed outdated by about eight years and came across as very cheesy. As a Brit the whole 'American patriot' gimmick was lost on me (no disrespect to America), and so I often tuned out whenever it was referred to. The main reason I couldn't buy into it, however, was how blatantly forced it was. Luger was no more an American hero than I am, and yet after loving nobody but himself for several months he's suddenly as patriotic as Jim Duggan!
The montage of Luger doing holding babies and posing on the bus is beyond corny and as for the 'I'll Be Your Hero' song...I have no words. With the benefit of 25 years hindsight, I'm glad that I tuned out whenever these vignettes came on.

Been catching up with the podcasts and loving them. And holy $hi# is Billy Gunn a listner of the Podcast 😲 Regards the Bret/Lawler match, Austin and Bob say the punches look real. According to Brets book, it was real. Lawler had potatoed him at King of the Ring and this was his opportunity for Payback and Bret took it. As for Lex, whose idea was it to make him a face 🤷♂️🤦♂️
